Free Music Notes for José Carreras: The Golden YearsFree Music Review: Get to know the real Jose Carreras Hit: 5 Stars
A perfect opportunity for those who only know Carreras as the third tenor, to understand why this great artist took the opera world by storm in the early 70's. His beautiful lyric voice and passionate delivery are exemplified in the arias of Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bizet et al., in addition to popular classics and more modern works. An excellant compilation of this exceptional artist!!
Free Music Review: supreme bel canto Hit: 5 Stars
Eventhough Carreras does not sound great right now, this recording is a great portrait of the outstanding sound his voice had when he was younger. The supreme beauty of his voice was incredible. "Una furtiva lagrima" brings tears to my eyes and I am sure that it also brings tears to the eyes of many other fans. Thanks Mr. Carreras for making a tradition much more beautiful.
Free Music Review: What a beauty! Hit: 5 Stars
This great double CD set shows us the true Carreras. All the great songs and arias are on this(although I would've liked to hear pourquoi me reveiller) and in pure Carreras style.
Some of the opera recordings are live, and that adds a lot to them. Both sides of the CDs have fantastic repetoire.
Definately a worthy buy!
Free Music Review: The Macho Man of Singing Hit: 5 Stars
Wow, wow and super wow. This recording is amazing. It is full of feeling and pure passion. Carreras voice sounds so strong and beautiful. The aria "La fleur que tu..." from Carmen is done... so amazingly beautiful, and the pianissimo at the end is superb. Thanks Jose for that singular beauty.
Free Music Review: A Collector's Item Hit: 5 Stars
This is a different voice than you hear on recordings of "The Three Tenors." Of course, it's his earlier years, but the light, lyrical quality of his voice is amazing. Thank goodness for recordings, and digital remastering. I love this CD.
