Free Music Notes for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1993 Los Angeles Cast)

Free Music Review: Deffinitely worth getting
Hit: 5 Stars

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is one of Webber's best musicals in my opinion, displaying everything from 1950's rock to pop to heavy guitar solo's. With the heartwrenching melody and powerful message of "Close every Door to Me", it'll become an all-time favorite song. The musical is not only powerful and fun, but a tribute to God Himself, uniquely musical. This recording includes some wonderful singing, especially the duets of Joseph and the Narrator. The 'brother's' songs will have you laughing, while the Song of the King will get you tappin' your toes. Well worth the effort to get this recording or the Canadian choir, or the origional Broadway. GOTTA LOVE IT!

Free Music Review: My favorite version, because of the narrator
Hit: 5 Stars

This was the first version of "Joseph..." I heard and I fell in love with it, a lot because of the narrator - Kelli Rabke. Later, when I wanted to buy it, I asked somebody which to buy, and they told me make sure to buy the version with Donny Osmond. I did so, and was very disappointed. Thanks to Amazon, recently I was able to preview a bunch of different versions and find that it was the Los Angeles cast I loved so much.

Kelli Rabke is unbeatable as the narrator. Though I do think Donny Osmond is a better Joseph, the Joseph in this version does a great job. I am willing to take settle for a slightly inferior Joseph in order to listen to the narrator in this version.

Free Music Review: Worth it for Kelli Rabke alone
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is worth it over the other versions solely because of Kelli Rabke's amazing vocals as Narrator. I had this album back in '98, lost the CD, and mistakenly bought the Canadian version recently to replace it. Boy, was I disappointed. Trust me, after hearing the LA version, every other narrator simply falls short and you'll be putting this one back in your player instead.

Some of the reviewers seem to be upset by Michael Damian's vocals but while not great, he doesn't irritate. His vocals are pleasant, if not spectacular, and does not detract from the rest of the cast. Sample "Joseph's Coat" from this version and you'll be hooked to this Narrator.

Free Music Review: This is the best recording!
Hit: 5 Stars

This recording of "Joseph..." is hands-down the best one! I have many different recordings of this show and let me say this: the 3 most recent ones (Canadain cast-Donny Osmond, London cast-Jason Donovan, and this one-Michael Damian) all are basically the same mixes and besides the different cast members, they are exactly the same! Now, I think the narrator is the most importnant part of the show and I wouldn't hesitate to say that Kelli Rabke on this recording is the best narrator available! She's amazing! And Michael Damian isn't too bad either. This one is my favorite and I reccomend if you are going to buy any Joseph, buy this one!

Free Music Review: This is a great version of this show
Hit: 5 Stars

I believe this version of Joeseph is a great cd. All the vocals in the cd are strong and full. You can really here the actors character come out in each song. The narrator(Kelli Rabke) has an amazing voice that makes each song she sings come alive. Robert Torti does a awesome Elvis sounding Pharoah. The best part of this cd was Michael Damian as Joeseph. Damian is an great actor and singer. You can really feel the emotion in each one of his songs. Especially "Close Every Door". I saw this show off broadway and Damian does the role perfectly. The entire cast blends together and sounds great. I would recommend this cd to anyone.
