Free Music Notes for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1993 Los Angeles Cast)Free Music Review: Grovel, Grovel to Joseph! Hit: 5 Stars
I absolutely LOVED this CD! It was so great! I am a religious person and I already knew the story of Joseph well, but this is his inspiring story told in a way that would make children want to know more! When I listen to this music, I can close my eyes and see the actors as if they were there! The slapstick is quite comical, and the lyrics are witty and clever. Some of the recordings are sung with such powerful words and sorrow that it will actually make your eyes water. Enjoy! You're in for a real treat!
Free Music Review: New soundtrack is fantastic!!! Hit: 5 Stars
JSoliloquy@aol.com wrote that the new soundtrack destroys the original version - but I have to adamantly disagree!!! The original soundtrack was nice, but sounds so dated! Listening to the soundtrack really dates the show. The new version really revitializes the original show! Having a female narrator is a must - since the show already features Joseph & his 11 brothers. The show and the soundtrack are fabulous!!! I've seen the LA show twice, and would love to see it again!!!
Free Music Review: Excellent Version of Joseph Hit: 5 Stars
This is perhaps my most favorite verison of Joseph. Kelli Rabke is absoultley amazing as the narrator. She brings energy and pop to the narrator making the show overall much more livley. However, Michael Damion does horrible in his role of Joseph. His voice passes however but does not even compare to Donny Osmonds. Despite this minor inconvienance, this cd is a must have and you should defenetly make it part of your library.
Free Music Review: Fabulous all the way through! Hit: 5 Stars
Sparkling with energy, this version of Joseph is all it needs to be. Michael Damian's voice is full of enthusiasm, energy and character, besides just singing every song so well. Kelli Rabke is a wonderful female balance to this male-heavy cast; you can feel her love for the telling of the story in her voice. All the other distinct characters were terrific, too. I totally enjoy this CD, it just never gets old.
Free Music Review: My Favorite Rock Opera! Hit: 5 Stars
I was very familiar with this CD when I bought it - I had actually been in several productions of "Joseph" before. So I was surprised to find how interesting and different it was from our version. I thought the singers were phenomenal and the Narrator, especially, was absolutely fabulous. Everyone in the cast had perfect diction and each song had its own personality. I recommend this CD very highly.
