Free Music Review: My favorite Christmas CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

Josh Groban has the most expressive, crystal clear voice in popular music, and it is displayed to its most beautiful extent in this collection of Christmas songs. I bought this CD last year and it has already been in my car for this holiday season since Halloween!

"Angels We Have Heard on High" with Brian McKnight was a wonderful surprise-- I had never heard this version before and it is a beautiful duet between the two of them.

This CD is a great compilation that could easily be played at a holiday dinner party or just on your iPod. The songs are relaxing, but without falling into the trap of getting too "jazzy" and sounding like the music they play in department stores. The only thing missing on the CD is "O Holy Night," his much-touted new Christmas classic, but that's available on the Josh Groban Live in Concert CD.

Free Music Review: Simply beautiful....
Hit: 5 Stars

I am very limited in what I can listen to nowdays. Especially at Christmas when I crave the music of my youth, when I long to be able to listen to and understand Christmas hymns and songs, it has become very hard for me to 'hear' most compilations of music. I seek for individual voices or instruments rather than choirs with orchestras because I quite simply cannot distinguish between them now. So finding this CD was a lovely surprise for me.

Groban has a wonderful baritone voice. For those who know nothing about the ear and how it works, and about high frequency deafness...the lower voices of men are much easier to hear for us than women's voices. Groban is clear as a bell, and the arrangements in this CD are simple and avoid drowning Groban's voice.

A nice Christmas present for me.

Free Music Review: Grandma Cried
Hit: 5 Stars

Picture this scenario- old grandma, two young granddaughters ready to dance, it's Christmas time, grandma has a new
CD of old classics, she had never heard of the singer. She places the CD into the player, everyone gets ready to rock and out of the speakers came the voices of angels, yet just one voice, grandma cried! She was so profoundly touched by the perfection of the voice of Josh Grobin singing Silent Night, it had the ability to tap into years of Silent Night memories. The album Noel is not just music to "soothe the savage beast" but to take one back to before the savage beast began, to a simpler time. Truly, truly a work of art.

PS: Little Ones would not let Grandma listen to the rest of Josh Grobin until they had left because they wanted to dance not watch Grandma cry!

Free Music Review: An excellent disc of Christmas tunes
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a beautiful collection of Christmas tunes from Josh Groban. I love the musical arrangements of these tracks. The piano playing on "Ave Maria" is absolutely lovely. I liked the violin playing on "What Child Is This" I love the beat of the drums on "Little Drummer Boy" The acoustic guitar playing on "Angels We Have Heard On High" sounds really good too. The talented Brian McKnight is featured on this track. "Petit Papa Noel" is a pretty French song. I think "Panis Angelicus" is performed in Italian. I never heard of these songs before, but they sound superb. It is a pleasant surprise. "The First Noel" is another standout here. Faith Hill sounds great singing with Josh on this track. This disc will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit.

Free Music Review: Perfect addition to Christmas Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

First Christmas collection CD from Josh Groban proves that his strength is in his voice alone. Best cut being "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear". The spare arrangement is a perfect blend with Groban's rich tones. Other favorite selections include "What Child is This" and surprisingly "Angels We Have Heard on High" a duet with Brian McNight. Surprising because Groban's and McNight's voices actually blend well together. Less successful and quite painful to hear is duet with Faith Hill. Seems her understanding of soul is to scream as loud as possible. Foster's arrangements are sometimes distracting, but the Glorious Voice of Groban overcomes these minor quibbles. Definitely in "classic Christmas" mode. Not for those looking for uptempo Christmas songs.
