Free Music Notes for Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: Dollars and (common) cents.
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm going to rate this CD based on a $1 per song cost to total cost for the entire CD (Apple and Rhapsody charge $1 per song).
I can still remember the days when, if you were a guy, you didn't admit to your friends that you liked Journey. I guess because they wrote a lot of soft rock or 'pop' love songs and had a really big lady following back then. Journey was so damn popular that they had their own video arcade game. It was much better than Kiss' pinball machine. Is Steve Perry ever going to do a reunion with the band?
This CD is great. I'm not afraid anymore to admit that I like Journey. The CD on Amazon is priced at $10. There are $14 worth of excellent songs on here (Tracks 1 through 14). So this CD is worth the price. You can also load the entire album on iTunes for $10, if you don't want to wait for the CD in the mail (and save yourself the shipping costs).

Free Music Review: One of the best American Rock Bands Period!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the best albums in the last thirty years. There are no "filler" songs on this cd and just about every song you hear consistantly on the radio. Its no wonder why Journey's greatest hits has sold 14 million copies since its release, and is one of the highest selling albums of all time!

To those that are negative and talk bad towards extremely popular rock bands such as Foreigner, Journey, and Boston, take your negativity elsewhere.

You cannot argue with success and Journey is one of the best rock bands of all time. According to the RIAA, they have over 20 top 40 hits, sold over 75 million records worldwide, 45 million in the United States alone. They are the 29th best selling band in the U.S. Nearly all of their albums have gone multi-platinum. Most importantly Journey had one of the greatest singers of our time, Steve Perry!

Free Music Review: Awsome collection of hits!
Hit: 5 Stars

I know there are some of you out there that probably either 1. are not sure if you really like Journey or 2. are torn between the different era's. If you look at my reviews you will find that I am one of those people who has gone retro. I have purchased Journey from the years that really appealed to me. With that said this is a very complete compilation that spans several of their very best years. To that end, a couple of songs that are missing that are personal favorites for me are, stone in love, still they ride, and mother father. If those 3 were on there this would probably be the perfect journey cd. But for those of you riding the fence, do I or do I not want? by this one, from there you can span out and venture to the older cd's and then move to the later offerings. But in my opinion this is a great place to start.

Free Music Review: Nothing can touch Steve Perry
Hit: 5 Stars

I brought this CD out of its case for the first time in years on a recent road trip from Atlanta to Indianapolis. I have this to say about that experience, "The road trip has not been invented that is not made better by the Journey Greatest Hits CD." And that is no lie.

I nearly lost my voice with Don't Stop Believin'. I found myself hitting 90 on the freeway right around the time the CD got to Ask the Lonely. And we won't even talk about the gestures I was making with Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. I'm sure the drivers around me thought I was crazy.

Suffice to say, this CD never goes out of style. If you haven't listened to Journey in awhile do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Nothing can touch the Steve Perry Journey years. Nothing.

Free Music Review: It's All Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

I listened to Journey when I was younger and I admit like other music from my youth I still enjoy them. Perhaps they were a bit poppy and perhaps people consider them too '80s' like some here, but they wrote great catchy songs.

I had not listened to them in quite awhile except for occassionaly cathing them on the radio, but when Tony Soprano heard this song in the infamous (famous?) episode I wanted to find an album that covered what I remembered and this record is it. Of course there is "Don't Stop Believin'" and others.

A couple of the songs are just okay (never did care much for "Faithfully") but it is more than made up with with "Wheel In The Sky", "Who's Crying Now" and my favorite "Seperate Ways."
