Free Music Review: Judas Priest delves into the rock opera arena!!!
Hit: 4 Stars

Like a lot of people, I was a bit hesistant when I heard about the concept for this album. I have been a Priest fan since I discovered them in '82 and have been with them since then. Although, the "Ripper" years are something to forget. I was not happy with their first try for an epic song, which was "Lochness" on "Angel of Retribution," which sucked and was the only bad patch on an otherwise great album. I feared that the new album would be an entire "Lochness." Wrong. This is a great epic album and I thought it was awesome! I can understand how this may not satisfy all Priest fans because there are not a lot of pounders here. Most of it is a laid back journey that needs to be listened to in it's entirety to be fully appreciated. If you just listen the the excerpts here on the Amazon page, you will probably not be very impressed. Do not let this fool you. This is a great album that is worth picking up. In a sea of modern metal where practically all the music involves nothing but bar chords played as fast as possible and so-called vocalists yelling at the lowest octaves they can attain, this album really is a masterpiece and will be considered a high point in the career of the Priest!

Free Music Review: best Priest album in a while
Hit: 4 Stars

I thought Nostradamus was the best priest album in a while. The past few albums I guess they have been trying to transition into the future and compete with the hard core bands, but the music just hasn't been as good as some other past albums in my opinion.

Judas Priest's Nostradamus is a really classy entertaining way of expressing Nostradamus' story and much more. Don't judge it on the basis of a regular rock album, a lot of critics are saying "oh they get some designer to create elaborate album art and don't have any talent to back it up." (thats like most bands these days that they are listening to), I don't think thats the case at all. The instrumental composure of every song is excellent all though I kind of didn't like the tracks new beginnings, lost love and exiled due to the melody of the vocals, I thought it was a good album. The double album contains a booklet with lyrics and some really nice album art.You can't get all the songs electronically, if your a Priest fan it's a good investment to buy it, well worth it for the remaining songs. If your into dark emotional classical music pieces and metal this album is mandatory for your collection.

Free Music Review: I FORESEE BAD REVIEWS
Hit: 4 Stars

But this won't be one. It makes me sad to read some of these reviews stating that this is the end of Judas Priest. How often do you hear Priest on the radio anyway? What's keeping them going is the true Priest fans that still buy there music and go to their shows. With this purchase you get a code for a free General Admission ticket to THE METAL MASTERS TOUR. This is a conceptual album about the life of Nostradamus, that means that it is telling a story for those of you that don't understand. I knew from the start that it would be slow and fast combined, but it is still Judas Priest. I think that the way it is mixed together in this time and age makes it a masterpiece plus I like the hardcover book that came with the collectors set. It's got some awesome artwork, the story of Nostradamus, and all of the lyrics. The discs slide into a sleeve in the front and rear of the book. I gave it 4 stars because I do believe that in some parts between songs that is does drag on a little but I am very impressed how this project came out. Also with my free ticket I know that I will be banging my head to all of the classics in August in San Antonio, Texas.

Free Music Review: An Interesting Change of Pace
Hit: 4 Stars

I had not heard the concept for the album before buying. I was expecting a traditional JP Cd similar to Angel of Retribution. It was no where close, but still is a great album. I believe it is fairly, if not very complex. Many times Halford isnt there for just vocals, but his voice is an instrument that melds in with the music.

I'm also a fan of Tool and Iced Earth, and this for some reason reminded me of them. If you look at all their latest albums, they all do the 1-2 minute preludes to each song (or group of songs) followed by the song itself. If you're a fan of Priest and are hardcore about their old ways, wait for the cd to go down in price. I feel that JP fans should definitely buy it, but to me its not an album with singles or hits. Its a complete great overall album.

Free Music Review: As a "Hero, Hero" fan I love this album!
Hit: 4 Stars

One of my all time favorite "best of" Collections of Priest is Hero, Hero.( Hero, Hero) There is just something about the way that album was put together and the way it flows from one song to the next that I always enjoyed.

As I have listened to this CD over and over I enjoy it more and more. There are times where I hit the last song on one CD and it restarts at the beginning of the CD where I don't even notice that it went back to the beginning until I look down at what track I'm on.

Those looking for a "Head Bang" album probably will be disappointed. But if you are like me and enjoy the early Priest music as well as the newer stuff you will enjoy this CD.
