I have to be honest. The first time I listened to this album I was a bit disappointed because it was something new to me being a Priest fan and I was expecting something similar to Painkiller or Screaming for Vengeance. But Don't get me wrong, after listening to it a few more times, I started to get hooked!
This album is so good that I regret complaining about it the first time. I had to go and buy this baby so I got the deluxe edition. It's like a little book and it's very well designed. It has a little introduction by the band, and then in each lyric page it has like a drawing based on each song.
Now don't get confused with the number of songs. The actual number of songs is 14. That fooled me at first. So I'm glad I decided to buy Nostradamus. I feel like doing some research on the guy now and find out more about him. Oh and by the way the lyrics are masterpieces.

Judas Priest is one of the most talented heavy metal bands. They started almost 40 years ago with a mixture of hard rock and progressive rock, then turned to heavy metal, speed metal, whatever they call it. They are so diverse, it is difficult to define their style. None of their albums look alike, each and every one of them is different. They always try new things, and, besides Turbo, never failed. But with Nostradamus they have outdone themselves. Nostradamus is metal opera, and at the same time, vintage Priest. I don't think Rob Halford has ever been able to show the whole beauty and range of his voice. Deep Purple's Don Airey is probably the best keyboardist one could think of to invite for such an ambitious project. Lost Love and New beginning are the two songs I would remove from the song list, but the rest is so great! A stunning album, a masterpiece from one of the best bands ever!Free Music Review: Brilliant!!!!!!

Like many others here, I have been, and forever will be one of the biggest Priest fans on the face of the earth. So I am a little biased.
But with that said, I have gotta say that I am absolutely blown away by this incredible "concept" album.
How Rob Halford's voice can sound so....well, youthfull, fresh & powerfull after over 30 years of his one-of-a-kind screaming is beyond me.
As for KK & Glen, well c'mon, there KK & Glen, Arguably the best guitar duo ever. Certainly in the metal scene.
And let me not forget to give Ian his props.
For those who expect to here the classic Priest, you may not find it here.
But then again, I think you will........
Bottom line, This CD kicks all sorts of arse....And thats not me being "biased"...

i listened to the new album through 3 times and as with all the great metal albums i bought in the past i.e. maiden # of the beast,metallica master of puppets,king diamond abigail to name a few they all needed a few listenings to become classics/masterpieces to me this judas priest album is no exception to my rule.gave it a few spins and now i can't stop listening i hope c.d.'s don't wear out like my old records or cassette tapes.oh and for those of you who don't like this album you probably don't own rocka rolla or sad wings of destiny.variety is the spice of life if priest wanted to do screaming again they could or defenders it is necessaryto change or become stagnant, a real artist like priest knows this....thanks priestFree Music Review: Priest shows depth, intelligence, and killer musicianship!!!

This album makes me want to re-read my book of quatrains!!! For all you haters out there metal does not have to be "go for the throat" 24/7 in order to have thrust and power. This is some of Priest's most thoughtful material ever. Everyone remembers how bad "Jugulator" and "Demolition" were I'm sure. Those albums were total sophomoric crap!!
"Nostradamus" however, is very well thought out, and sequenced. The Metal God, KK, Glenn, Ian, and Scott have put their collective all into this and they are the only metal band that could've pulled this off!!
