Free Music Review: A Real Surprise

I am a fan of Julie Delpy the actress. When I saw this CD, I must say I was skeptical. But I was very surprised. I actually find the disc to be much better than I had expected. Stand out tracks are Mr. Unhappy, A Waltz For The Night, Black And Gray and Ready To Go is also another catchy song. I also hear some undertones of Nico in her voice, except nowhere as deep. Also, Julie brings her attitude along with the lyrics. It flows nicely with different styles of music. French or not, it's a good album by a woman with a good singing voice. It's one I recommend. Probably one of the best music albums to be recorded in the last couple of years. It's great how there is a very smooth blend of French 16th century rock, 11th century Mongolian blues, and modern Alaskan reggae. Also, Delpy has got an amazing opera suprano singing voice. Get this CD; it's great music for raves, ballroom dancing, and yogic meditation. I recommend the soon to be completed film-trilogy of "Before Sunrise." The third film is said to be made as a goth-baroque-reggae-techno musical. A great CD!Free Music Review: Julie Don't Live Here Anymore?

A chalk-tapping, delphic becon oraculating on frequency DSM-IV from the land of Charles Manson and The Black Dahlia. Personally, I find this album utterly mesmerizing. Of course I'd never expect the Top 40 philistines and boy band devotees to agree with me, but if the mudslingers can't even muster something vaguely positive to say about "Time To Wake Up" or "Je t'aime tant" then they're just being mean. I like that Delpy doesn't try to be too verbose or contrively profound with her lyrics. She realizes her style and sticks very well to it. Her songs are simple and breezy - perfect for background music or coffee table chatter. Really nice stuff here.Free Music Review: Simple Minds....

The music, just as ms. delpy, is flawless. The negative reviews (from france..go figure)..go to show there is no accounting for taste. No wonder Julie left france..Simple minds rarely appreciate true talent.
