Free Music Review: Very different and poppy, but still good work...
Hit: 5 Stars

hmmm, what can I say. Julieta's new album is very different from her previous work, but it is still a very good piece of work.

It is more poppy, yet has a strong 80's electronic influence(and for anyone who knows anything about Tijuana besides Av. Revolución, there was a strong New Wave culture there in the 80's and 90's).

She is great at not losing herself, yet trying something new. The songs are very catchy, delicate, yet well composed. Gracias Julieta por poner el nombre de Tijuas tan alto!

She is getting the attention she deserves, and I am glad REAL Mexican female talent is getting more attention. Most people do not know or are not well informed of the musical revolution going on down there and in Latin America...this is just a taste!

Free Music Review: The Best Album Of The Year
Hit: 5 Stars

I heard about Julieta Venegas many times but never was in my kind of music, after "Andar Conmigo" I became a fan of her, and when i heard "Lento" i wanted to die of happiness, I've never listened such lyrics and the accordions i love them, I got the album 2 weeks ago and i play it everyday i never thought Julieta could make it here in the US but here she is and with the new single "Algo Esta Cambiando" wich is a very good song she is gonna get it , I saw the video "Lento" and i think that is a good video specially because she appears with her twin sister, both cute.
I Wish the very best to Julieta because she deserves it, with a great voice and a great talent. don't miss this album, you'll love it.

Free Music Review: Julieta has grown, she's happy now. Nothing wrong with that
Hit: 5 Stars

Ive read so many reviews of Julieta fans critizising her new work for being too pop, too happy feely... complaining she does no longer generate dark songs, bitter witty lyrics... The problem with that is that people go through stages, sad ones, dark ones and even happy ones! She's a happy girl now! That is what is coming out of her... Nothing wrong with that... I love her work. "sticky" tunes do not equate commercial bubble gum pop... Give it a try and understand it for what it is; a different album, a different stage. I keep her last 2 albums close to my heart, and although this one is completely different, Julieta Venegas still is.

Free Music Review: It's too bad she isn't more well known in the States
Hit: 5 Stars

After hearing Julieta Venegas on the KCRW "Sounds Eclectic" compilation ("Casa Abandonada"), I have been a fan ever since. Although she's well known in Latin America, she hasn't yet got the recognition she deserves in the US. I loved both "Aqui" and "Bueninvento," and eagerly awaited her latest album.

"Si" is a bit of a departure from the other two, but it's still a stunningly-crafted, well-written album. My favorite songs are "Lo Que Pidas," "Mala Memoria," and "Nada Serio." My only complaint is that the album is too short!

Free Music Review: Yes
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD has solidified my fandom of Srta. Venegas

This album is more Pop-py than the last one and the songs are short - but I'm starting to think that short albums are the way to go..

Musically it is also more optimistic than Bueninvento (can't understand the words)..

Favorite songs are: Lento, Andar Conmigo, Alguien, & Oleada, with Nada Serio, Donde Quiero Estar & Algo Está Cambiando following..

One thing I'm puzzled by.. My 9-year old "cousin/niece-in-law" in S.D. had never heard of her - is she not played on U.S. Spanish radio? If not, why?!
