Free Music Review: Timbo & Timber Strikes Again!
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok, I usually don't review recent albums, but this album is one I HAD to review because I enjoyed it THAT much. I think the last album I enjoyed like this was Jamie Foxx's Unpredictable (almost two years ago). So, that tells you how many recent albums are worth my precious penny. So yea, I was thoroughly impressed with JT's latest record. I actually liked the last album too, but it wasn't as complete as this one. It was uneven at times. This album is fluent and catchy, mainly because Timberland handles most of the production, instead of a myriad of producers. Not to say that Timberlake isn't a great musician. He is, but we all know the beats rule on MOST good albums. So, I give credit where credit is due. And the credit is paying dividends, with FutureSex selling 4 million copies and SIX radio hits ("Summer Love", "SexyBack", "My Love", "What Goes Around", "Love Stoned", "Until the End of Time").

Now that HALF the album is worth listening to, let's focus on the album tracks. My first recommendation would be the title track. It's a great opener with its heavy bass and dark vocals. JT really shows his mystical side, leading right into the Grammy-nominated "SexyBack". Skipping to "Chop Me Up", JT, Three 6 Mafia and Timberland exchange colorful rhymes. Not the best bars, but with Timberland's distinct style and Three 6's country tongue, this one WILL not go unnoticed. The last great track is a slow one in "Losing My Way". As in Justified, JT shows his softer side for the ladies. He isn't as convincing as Usher, but he is the closest competition to him. Timberland laces a cozy melody, fit just for JT's mellow voice and sing-a-long chorus. An enjoyable listen.

So, how many tracks do you HAVE to play everytime you hear the record? 9! (6 radio hits, 3 album bangers). That only leaves 3 that you MAY skip when you first hear them (I doubt it though). If you haven't heard the album, you must hear it and then get it. It's definitely worth the accolades deserved and price retailed. I thought it would have sold more by now, but the music industry is in a recession so triple-platinum is pretty good. Maybe when the industry rights the ship, it'll do 6-7 million. Highly recommended.

Free Music Review: Ok album, not that great!
Hit: 3 Stars

The first time I heard SexyBack I thought Justin's new album would be filled with lots of great new tracks, and as always he'd take a different direction in Pop to sound fresh and hip.

He kind of tried to do that, but if you got just one and only main producer (Timbaland) you get one and only result: All the songs sound exactly the same. The dance songs have pretty much no difference between them, the lyrics quality is worst than his previous album, and though some songs sound refreshing, the rest of them are disposable. This album is filled with 5 good songs and the rest is nothing more than fillers.

This is sad considering that he is pretty much the dominating alfa male in Pop right now. But it's not as good as his previous album. Some mention some Prince like style, but Justin is far far away from sounding like any Prince album, he's got the ideas, a great Producer (Timbaland), but he needs a little bit more of different ideas. Not just the same idea for all the songs in an album.

This is kind of the same for Justin as Bad was for Michael Jackson, lots of keyboards, lots of beatboxing, and lots of dance songs, but just like 'Bad', it wasn't half as good as 'Thriller'. Sad story.

Free Music Review: At last
Hit: 1 Stars

Finally the critics and fans have recognized the talents of Justin Timberlake and he is nominated for a long overdue American Music Award for the CD FutureSex/Lovesounds. It really doesn't matter which song from the album pushed him over the top because they all sound pretty much the same. Hey, when you find a formula that works, stick with it ad nauseum and that certainly seems like the game plan here (it works for every hip hop, Daughtry, Nickelback, etc. recording, why mess with success). All is not decided however, he is up against some very heady competition in Timbaland, a wannabe gangsta who couldn't quite pull off the spelling of his favorite pair of work (and I use the term loosely) boots. Or maybe it was an homage to JT himself after all even JT must realize that Timbaland and Timbalake are pretty close. Might this be prelude to a collaboration. Is there a Timbalandlake recording on the horizon? That would almost certainly be a lock for next year's Grammy and AMA, and They could have the award presented by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney in a retro moment taking us back to that other monumental Ebony & Ivory recording collaboration. Now, for those of you among us that actually know anything about music save your time. there is nothing musical about this recording, there is nothing sexy or sensual or erotic about this recording, there is nothing and I mean nothing special about this recording. The AMA and this "nomination" is just another example of the music industry lavishing awards on themselves to generate more record sales. Really lets look at some of the nominees, Daughtry? Akon? Really? This is the best the music industry has to offer. It's a good thing the CD cover design is so cutting edge.

Free Music Review: It's okay!
Hit: 3 Stars

I bought this CD mainly for the Sexyback song and thought the other songs on the CD would have a similar beat/feel to them. I was unpleasantly surprised to find that I really only like 3 songs on the entire CD. Many of them do not sound at all like Sexyback, some of them do not even sound like Justin Timberlake, and some sound like rap-type music. It's okay - but if you are expecting a similar sound/feel for the songs, it is not there.

Free Music Review: So hot!
Hit: 5 Stars

Yes, JT is hot, but so is his music! Almost every single track in this album can be released as a single. To think that I actually hated "SexyBack" when I first heard it.
