Free Music Review: Album of the year...no questions asked!
Hit: 5 Stars

Justin Timberlake; a man hated on by many because of his past musical endeavors. I was personally disgusted by him and his fellow *NSYNCers. But, if it's good music I'll rock to it and support it all the way. And that's exactly what this album is. GOOD MUSIC! This is not just a CD, this is an album. It has direction, a sound, it flows. It's not just a bunch of random songs recorded, thrown on a CD, and given a title. This is accredited just as much to the greatest producer of all time, Timbaland, as it is to Mr. JT.

The production is incredible lead by, once again, Timbaland along with some help from the Black Eyed Peas mastermind will.i.am and co-starter of the legendary Def Jam label Rick Rubin. The production was an amazing infusion of R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul & Dance. This may seem like a little too much to handle but it was done masterfully.

The melodies on the album are very unique. At times using a similar sound of legends such as Prince & yes Michael Jackson, but for the most part much his own. Lyrically this album is also superb having a great mix of simple and deep lyrics. Some good examples of this are the tracks "Damn Girl" (simple) & Losing My Way (deep). Justin's voice is also amazing on the album especially his falsetto.

Overall this is an album you can really put in and listen to from start to finish especially since you have so much change in the production because of the incredible interludes that could really past for songs themselves. The album never gets boring and if I was on the grammy commidy this would be my vote, thus far, for album of the year.

Favorite Tracks
3. Sexy Ladies (a real old school, soul feel to it)
4. My Love (The second single and stand out song on the album)
7. Chop Me Up (Took me a minute to like, but gives an edge to the album)
8. Damn Girl (Track to let loose to for the fellas)
9. Summer Love (Possibly the best song & should be the third single)
10. Until The End of Time (Stand out slow jam)
11. Losing My Way (Deep and unexpectidly creative)
*BONUS TRACK Pose (Fun song)

Free Music Review: Tell Me, Is This Fair?
Hit: 5 Stars

Indeed it is. Topping the Billboard Hot 100 proved to be a simple accomplishment for Justin Timberlake, who happens to be sitting on an audible goldmine. FutureSex / LoveSounds is a mix of sounds proven to get the club moving and set the mood (no pun intended).

Building from sounds of the past and present, Timberlake, along with producers Timberland and Danjahands, has fashioned a successful CD into which he has put a lot of himself. He wrote the lyrics, beatboxed, and even played the piano on the last track, "Another Song".

Each track stands on its own, yet fits very well into the grand scheme of the album. On the first listen, it might be hard for one to tell whether Justin meant for "Sexy Ladies" to sound like an actual song or an interlude between the tracks "SexyBack" and "My Love". Despite this minor confusion that might be brought on by the mere slow pacing of "Sexy Ladies," the album actually moves quite quickly. Of my favorites is "LoveStoned," which infuses the JT trademark beatbox with bass and symphony, accompanied with the lyric "I'm love stoned and I could swear/That she knows". Though I do tend to lean towards a few songs on the album, I do feel that Timberlake has done well by refraining from the use of too many tasteless lyrics.

With that having been said, JT's sophomore effort is a very grand maturation. In fact, the only transposition (in terms of the actual sound) to be found on FutureSex / LoveSounds from Justified is "Cry Me a River," which would clearly fit in on either album.

Some might be disappointed with the sheer length of a few songs on this album. "What Goes Around..." reaches roughly 7:28 on the album, which has been cut down drastically for radio play (and which may be a reason it only stayed on the #1 spot of the Top 100 for a week [so far]). I do not mean to detract from the rest of the album, because this is clearly a strong effort by Justin Timberlake, who seemes poised to conquer mainstream music with this collection of songs.

Free Music Review: The Sexy was already here, but I likes 5 Stars

This is probably the third greatest CD in the history of the world, behind Hasselhoff(just put them all under one title because they are all unreal) and Centerfield by John Fogerty. JT is just off tha hook with dance jams that make me breakdance like I won't get dinner if I don't slap the room around with a moonwalk. He also slows it down so you can come in high and tight with your sweet muffin. Squeeze the muffin turbo! I'm a great dancer, I know that is assumed, but this CD takes me to another level not seen since Boogaloo Shrimp tore the wall off the place in Breakin 2, electric boogaloo. I walked into my favorite club the other night, Frankendance, and "Sexyback" was playing on the system. I took off my sequin robe and it was Mcbowlerpimp cold lampin. I was doing moves that no one had ever seen or smelled before. I moonwalked in a rhombus pattern!! There was no name for that so we called it chunderwinkles. I was on fire, so they sprayed me down with an extinguisher and I kept going. I was getting women's numbers in the middle of dance moves. I know, you can't pull that off. Jabs had to grab a pen and paper because I couldn't keep up with all of the offers of love for the evening. I can take the game to levels not seen since Ricky Schroeder on Silver Spoons. I tell you this story to lay out my only complaint about this CD. JT didn't bring the "sexy" back. I ran a newspaper ad in July of 2003 declaring that I had decided to bring the sexy back. I was laying low for awhile and locked the sexy in a treasure chest like a pirate would have. I didn't think the world was ready for sexy with everything going on in the middle east. In July of 03, I figured I would take the sexy out of the box and bring it back. I brought it back at 10 lies in 03. It was front page news in the Syracuse paper the next day. Sexy was back. I'm OK with JT taking it worldwide, but I thought I would let everyone know what's up. Average and me were close when I was 4, but I moved 3 time zones from it the next year and haven't looked back.

Free Music Review: Better the second time around
Hit: 5 Stars

I never thought I would like this CD, much more, love it, but I do. Wasn't a big fan of Justin's debut and I downloaded just the essential tracks off that, but this is a great album.

Heavily influenced by the sound of Prince, it's a hybrid of hip hop/trip hop/funk/electronica. Opening track 'FutureSex/LoveSound' sets the tone for most of the album; upbeat, razor sharp bass line, and incredibly funky!!

Lead off single and no.1 smash 'SexyBack' is a simple, almost atonal sounding ditty (much like Usher's 'Yeah') with semi sung/spoken muffled lyrics, which grows with repeated spins into a great dance song.

My favourite has got to be the current single; the 'Cry me a river' channeling 'My love', with a slowed down techno feel, great falsetto from Justin, and excellent harmonies and production. Should be a big hit. Fantastic!!

'Love stoned/I think she knows' is a bouncy dance number with a killer bassline, Prince-like guitar break, and an MJ inspired catchy chorus. Fab downbeat guitar outro too.

'Summer mode/Set the mode' is a fantastic midtempo number with a lush, soulful ballad outro. The Will.i.im produced 'Damn girl' is Prince meets James Brown. A funky song with a retro feel complete with funky guitar and horns.

Justin makes a stab at social concious writing with 'Losing my way', a midtempo tale of a man's marriage and life ruined by drugs, with a nice choir finale (featuring Kirk Franklin). Not as eloquent as a Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder equivalent but it works.

There are 3 extra tracks available on iTunes: 'Take away your love', the very funky 'Pose' (with Snoop Dogg), and 'Floatin'' (with Charlie Wilson) which are just as essential.

This album shows phenomenal growth. It's like I love it!!!

Free Music Review: WORE this CD out!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

First off I am not a huge fan of JT and bought the CD last year when it first came out... didn't even like "Sexyback" truth be told (due to the radio stations playing it so much) and I can't even recall what made me purchase it in the first place LOL

That being said I must say that when I got it I played it OUT!! I was so surprised at how many jams were on the CD. Listened to it day and night, at work, at home while cooking, gardening, reading told everyone I spoke with about it since I was like BLOWN away. Had several favorites from the "GET" and man I just couldn't wait for the radio stations to catch up with the ENTIRE CD because they were still playing "Sexyback" and as time went by and I would hear more singles released and played on the radio my smile was broad and my ears delighted that some of my favorites made it to the radio waves. Timberland and JT did a AWESOME job on this CD with mixing up slow jams (that will move you to close your eyes and nod your head) and dance music that will make you run out to the dancefloor at a club. With the exception of a few songs this CD is solid and I have this thing that if I like if out of a 12 songlist CD I like over 8 of them that is pretty dang good! For the record my faves are:

1. Until the end of Time
2. Lovestoned
3. My Love
4. Future Sex/Love Sounds
5. Losing My Way
6. All Over Again
7. Summer Love
8. What Goes Around (the remix version)
9. Sexyback
