Free Music Notes for FutureSex / LoveSoundsFree Music Review: An amazing album from start to finish Hit: 5 Stars
Justin Timberlake is a rarity in today's music scene. Not content to rest on his laurels with a self-congratulatory pat on the back, he strives to challenge himself whenever possible. With the critical and popular success that he had with his first album, it would have been very easy for him to recycle those same ideas and rush out another album while he was on a hot streak. Instead, he took time away from the spotlight and came back fresh, with exciting new ideas and with a voice that has grown in flexibility and emotional strength. An honest-to-god album that's meant to be listened to from start to finish (instead of seemingly unrelated singles placed haphazardly on the disc), it's an invitation to take a musical journey for an hour or so.
This album has a little bit of something for everyone. The first half is dominated by killer beats and cool grooves, sure to make you dance in your seat, while the second half gives way to more laid-back, funkier, mellow tracks. The album starts off strong with the title track, "FutureSex/LoveSound", which sets the tone nicely for the journey the listener is about to take. And it ends on an even stronger note, with the superb "(Another Song) All Over Again", which truly showcases Mr. Timberlake's beautiful vocals, stripping away everything but the soul of the song. Done in a single vocal cut, it truly leaves the listener anxious to hear more of what Justin Timberlake has up his sleeve.
Free Music Review: I like it! Hit: 5 Stars
Maybe its just me, but I think often many people over analyze when it comes to music. But again, maybe its just me. I personally love the cd. I was a bit skeptical because the first listen of sexback kind of took me back for a minute. I wasn't sure what to quite make of the sound, but that was the initial listen. As I really was able to digest the sound, I loved it and then realized Timbaland produced it, which made me like it more. At any rate, all the comparisons to Michael Jackson and now ever since I read an article on AOL about Until the end of time sounding like an updated prince, now everyone wants to think he's biting his style. I never got that impression. Michael Jackson maybe, prince nahhh. At any rate who hasn't been influenced by MJ. I don't sing, but if a MJ song comes on I can go in a trance. That is what the sound of that era did. It was groundbreaking. Everyone up until this time has tried to reinvent so to speak and there are some noteworthy efforts. I think Justin makes good music solo. I couldn't stand him in the group. I think his vocals are much better, using what works for him instead of singing through the nose like he did with the group. At any rate, I think the music is great, I think Timbaland has found a wave to ride again and I'm happy with listening to it.
Free Music Review: Great Cd To Buy Hit: 5 Stars
The review title says it all the album is superb.Justin has completely changed his style lyrically & idealistically but kept his great singing voice & combined the best of both. The first five songs are in my opinion enough to merit the meagre cost of the cd & anyone who is a fan of great music is making a big mistake if they don't buy it.
The title track come with lyrics like "cuz all i need is a moment alone 2 give u my tongue & put u outta control, after u let it in the skin 2 skin is just so natural" which being on such a hypnotic & alluring beat causes you to want to listen to it over & over. Sexy back is more of a grown up techno jam with a catchy hook. My love is one of the great love songs of this era with justin professing his love with the help of T.I. who gives it a release of sorts by means of his rapping. Lovestoned is the final song about which i will write as my fingers are getting tired ;) it is a great song for all you feminist & male chauvanists alike and is another superb combo of lyrics & rhythm of the beat.
Over all The album is great and I gave it five stars cuz it deserves it the only thing that could've been better is the album cover & back.
Free Music Review: Nothing To Complain About In This Sophomore... Hit: 5 Stars
I was stunned when I heard this follow up album to JT's debut. It sounds nothing like Justified or the days when Justin was only known as one of the five band members of pop band, N*Sync. After listening to this album, it is clear that Justin is clearly putting those days of pop boy band phonomena behind him and saying, "Bye Bye Bye." I really can't tell you anything bad about this album, other than the fact I have never heard anything like it. His voice is amazing and after writing nearly all the songs and collaborating with Timbaland, it clearly just comes to be one work of art; a masterpiece album. The top songs to me are Sexyback, Lovestoned, My Love, What Goes Around, Chop Me Up, Losing My Way, and Summer Love. It's really hard just to say those, when really, all of them are really shine. They sure can get you up and moving about, for sure. Just definitely one of the top albums of 2006...I hope Justin continues to make many more albums...coz if he keeps on this track, he can only get more excellent and talented along the way. Kudos to JT!!! I recommend this album to everyone...it is worth every penny of the cost.
Free Music Review: Expectations met and exceeded Hit: 5 Stars
I liked Justified, not as much as others, but I liked Cry Me a River and a few others a lot, but it was 3.5 stars to me. It was choppy. There was a lot I skipped or didn't even put on the ole iPod.
FutureSex/LoveSounds is really well made, amazing flow. I can rarely listen to a cd through (especially since it's easy to shuffle on an iPod and skip/delete the bad), but honestly, this one I can, and have enjoyed doing it too. Tracks that I really liked were:
1. FutureSex/LoveSound
2. SexyBack
4. My Love
6. What Goes Around
7. Chop Me Up
8. Damn Girl (the chorus anyway)
9. Summer Love
11. Losing My Way
So, out of 12 tracks, 8 made my list of likes...not too shabby! I can see a long run of singles coming from this cd. Alone they are good, together they are better. This CD was definitely produced to flow. It's a whole cd, not a few tracks and filler. Listen to Janet Jackson's Velvet Rope for a similar production.
There you have it! Don't assume it's an overhyped CD, I did and I was wrong. I wish I'd listened to it yesterday.
