Free Music Notes for Late Registration

Free Music Review: crazy guy, but really cool too
Hit: 4 Stars

gotta love kanye. I'm into r&b and not hip hop but this CD is a jewel in the crown. Don't let the cheesy videos with weird production prevent you from checking out this CD.

Free Music Review: Not quite as good as College Dropout
Hit: 4 Stars

To OzzyApu just because Kanye has knowledge of self by saying that AIDS was created by Caucasians to kill Blacks and Latins doesn't make him a racist. My people still face racism today and that will never change. You must be Caucasian and if so you don't and you wouldn't understand Kanye's as well as other minorities beliefs about what we deal with in Amerikkka. Caucasians lie to us daily. For example, the picture of the so-called Jesus Christ that appears to be a Caucasian man but not of African descent? Enough of the His-story lesson, Kanye's latest album was descent. He took some chances with this one but a couple songs like "Ride Slow" and "Celebration" could of been left of the album. I still would recommend this cd to anyone who loves music.

Free Music Review: cool sound..
Hit: 5 Stars

i think kanye west's music is one of the most unique in da hip hop scene..all d others sounds da same..he do raps like p.diddy but the elements he tries to come out with his music is nothing like the others so far..and that rocks!! yeah..break it down!

Free Music Review: okay..
Hit: 4 Stars

I hate to love him, but I can't help it. Now, this is a bittersweet review. As for the music, sweet. As for his attitude, bitter-as always. I REMEMBER, AIGHT? i remember, but, i was not born at this time, and i am sick of his racist remarks on his un-necessary skits. If he kept it sctrictly musical, with 1 or 2 breaks max, this album would be a 5. That song IS sickly sweet I agree, with Brandy. This album is definately for the higher mindset, and it is definately more perfected, just not thoroughly edited. I actually am sick of him glorifying us blacks in ways which we do not have to be glorified. Those times are over, and it would be good if he promoted the ACTUAL message.. UNITY among ALL races, and I mean, I get it, these are his points of views, and blacks are definately a minority in our society today, and I like the twist of sarcasm he puts on that, but I mean he just fails to mention the problems of society in which they face ALL races and religions (jews especially, asians etc) yet seems to be racist in favour of black people. This album has a slightly darker appeal than college dropout, in which the skits also pissed me off, as they mocked college, influencing kids that if they go to college, they will most likely end up homeless !? and that college is pretty much not good for anyone. Riiiight, and if you choose not to go to college, and instead rap/dance/sing/whatever and spend your money making mixtapes and sending them out and you dont get a call back and dont get signed..there is no way that you'll end up homeless..riight, college might have not been good for him, he got lucky, he got signed, he has talent, many kids may not. jeeze. I respect the soulfulness again, of this album. And that if you do not understand the meaning behind the lyrics, you can still ENJOY the album. Beware, this album is for the tough-skinned. :) thannks.

Free Music Review: 3-1/2 stars -- Classic Soul All-Stars featuring Kanye West
Hit: 3 Stars

Tired of reading reviews that just bash Kanye and want to hear someone talk about the actual album? Well, I'm here to save you.

Troublemakers; you gotta love `em. Kanye West is all over the radar screen right about now thanks to "Gold Digger" and his George W. Bush remarks. This accounts for why his latest album, Late Registration, has garnered so many positive and negative reviews. Now, I didn't give it five stars because sorry, it's far from classic (in fact, I also gave The College Dropout 3-1/2 stars); and I didn't give it one star because it's far from that, too. I believe it's somewhere in the middle.

I really don't think "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" was the best choice for a lead single, especially because the sample in the chorus isn't even on the same beat as the rest of the song. But maybe Kanye released that song intentionally because he always seems to shine more with his second single (remember "All Falls Down"?). But as much as I love "Gold Digger", it's contradictory that he's talking about gold-digging women yet he uses a sample that says "she gives me money when I'm in need". Oh, well; Ye continues to shine on "Heard `Em Say" and "My Way Home".

If people don't understand what I mean by my review title, it's like, well, we've all come to expect Kanye to utilize old school soul samples, but at times there are more samples than actual verses, especially in the overrated "Crack Music". Another thing is that it's obvious that Kanye is still on Roc-A-Fella because almost every song has a guest star. While Ye does hit with tracks like "Drive Slow" and "We Major", he misses on the aptly titled "Bring Me Down" (with Brandy). And I thought my brother was a little off when he told me that Cam'ron outshines Kanye on "Gone", but after listening to the song, I said, "Oh."

Kanye also isn't as impressive as he used to be when he's rollin' dolo, as evidenced by "Addiction" and "Celebration". And as was the case with The College Dropout, all the skits HERE suck too (and note to another reviewer: that's not really Bernie Mac in "Wake Up Mr. West"). I won't be stupid and say that Late Registration isn't going anywhere, but honestly, the singles are the best songs while everything else is aiight.
