touch the sky is the worst video I've ever seen in my life! but this CD has aight songs though he has nothing on the king of rap, 2pac, wish he was here today I would have loved to see what kind of comments he would make about mr. golddigger

Free Music Review: Klassic Kanye
Hit: 5 Stars

I may not care for the skits, but the entire CD is fantastic. I highly recommend!

Free Music Review: Mediocre Rapper Takes Over The World!
Hit: 1 Stars

First off, Kanye West is about as mediocre a rapper as it comes. He looks plain, sounds plain, and if it wasn't for the controversy that surrounds him, everyone would be like "Who Cares?" But while he sings about Jesus and lives like he is a prophet, there is no substance to him and his music. Lame beats, hypocritical lyrics, this is the core of what is wrong in secular music today. His interviews show him as arrogant, racist, and unlovable, but it is selling his music and that's what he cares about. So while his rapping voice is mediocre and his rhymes are abysmal and his life is lukewarm, he is sure to sell records galore and people will adore his hypocrisy (and their own hypocrisy). So let's be real for a second, because I am about to give you the best CD you will hear in years - it's a mixture of rap and rock, with (real!) beats, acoustic guitar, splashes of piano, and a voice that can sound like Chris Martin of Coldplay one second and then rap like LL Cool J the next...buy today Mat Kearney's "Nothing Left To Lose." The best CD of 2006 and without an ounce of hyprocrisy while being true to himself.

Free Music Review: Don't waste your breath
Hit: 2 Stars

One thing's for sure: Kanye West has a big ego. Isn't anybody else bothered by this? Case in point is the song "Diamonds from Sierra Leone." Sure the beat is terrific and I love that sample that serves as the song's refrain, but the lyrics really get to me. A song titled "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" seems like the perfect way to make some good social commentary on the human injustices that are the result of the diamond trade in the African country of Sierre Leone, but West seems too concerned with rapping about how rich he is, how big his hits are, how wrong critics were about his music, to bother with all that stuff. The only thing I learned from this song is that he's got a Porshe, was nominated for some Grammies, is better than everyone else, etc. Bravo, Kanye, in one song you've managed to demonstrate just how far hip-hop has strayed from its roots of social commentary to end up at its current state of complete narcissism and irrelevence.

Free Music Review: 3-1/2 Stars -- Not quite a sophmore slump
Hit: 3 Stars

Well this CD sure got reviewed the hell out of, didnt it? At least on the original version with over 600 some odd reviews many just either bashing Kanye or praising him and not talking about the actual album. Well even though it's a little late to be reviewing this album I thought I'd put my two cents in here anyways.

First off I'd like to say it's not a sophmore slump like might my title review says but I found myself finding many more memorable tracks on College Dropout. Oh there's nothing on here that I would say is garbage but Kanye badly slips up on the typical weed tracks "Addiction" and "Celebration". He also provides a misstep with Brandy on the obligatary song "Bring Me Down".

If you're looking for singles to save you well you'll be pleased somewhat. "Diamonds" is okay, but the big splash is with of course "Gold Digger" (although it's played out by now) and "Touch The Sky" which includes Lupe Fiasco (and check out his single "Kick Push"). Kanye also shines on "Heard Em Say".

The production is very sharp on this album as usual by Kanye, but some of the samples can be overused especially on "Crack Music". There are also way too many guest stars on here. Fortunatley tracks like "Drive Slow", "We Major", and "My Way Home" succeed here with this formula. And Late Registration is filled with skits and they all suck like on College Dropout although I have to say I got a laugh out of "Wake Up Mr. West". Overall Late Registration has obviously sold tons of copies, but honestly I have to agree with reviewer Anthony Rupert when he said the singles were the best songs on here.
