Free Music Review: Exactly what you would expect

Fans of HSM2 will be happy with this CD. Songs are exactly as you would suspect from the movie with good vocal tracks and great instrumentals.
Only problem: Fabulous has no cue on instrumental track for when singer is to begin, making it difficult for singers to get the first line with the music.
Still well worth it for those HSM2 fans.

I haven't written a review before but the first review for this product was so ridiculous that I had to comment.
I purchased this product and it is a GREAT karaoke CD. I am a music teacher and work with a lot of background tracks, etc. The tracks on this album are almost the exact movie soundtrack minus the lead vocals (i.e., no cheesy "karaoke" sounding music). They also have the original movie singers as background vocals, which is fun for kids to sing along to.
An added bonus is that the "demo" versions of the songs are actually the songs from the movie soundtrack with the original singers. So, if you don't have the movie sountrack, you can buy this and have almost all the songs from the movie (minus Sharpay's "Music in Me", and the last 2 tracks on the soundtrack album) as well as the karaoke versions. Grade A+ from this music teacher!!

Heres some background information - I actually downloaded this off the Net thinking it to be the soundtrack to 'High School Musical 2'. What a pity then that this turned out to be the Karaoke version of the album.
That said, I probably wouldn't have been to upset if it was GOOD karaoke. I could have at least played around making remixes with the samples on my laptop. Instead, they of the worst C-Grade quality imaginable, and its shocking to think this is an official release.
Second, it does NOT contain all the songs either from the first or second movie. Could I say rip-off? Yes I could.
All in all, if you're a tired parent getting this because your kid loves HSM so much, move on. There is nothing here of any worth, and PLEASE save your money. If you're a HSM fan yourself, this is by far one of the worst editions on any format of the franchise.
