I first heard of this band on NPR when they were interviewing Conrad Johnson, the high school band conductor for a lengthy period of time. I checked the article out on the NPR website and listened to a few of the tracks they posted. It's absolutely amazing and was a clincher to make me buy the double CD. It's outstanding to listen to and even more so when you realize this is a high school stage band. I'm not a die hard jazz fan but this 2 CD set has some of the fattest sounds I have ever listened to. Oustanding compilation!
