I can honestly say I love every song on this CD. Her lyrics hit straight to the heart and she sings with such expression. She reminds me of the singer/songwriters of the 70's like Carly Simon and Carole King. I am excited to watch her career. Free Music Review: A bump in the road.

Don't Look Away by Kate Voegele isn't a strong debut as it should've been. Kate's vocals seem unique and soulful but if you listen closely, her voice is whiny and raspy but not in a good way. She's young and has some potential but her vocals are her downfall, can't say she's a great songwriter as well, her guitar playing is good but the lyrics just rattle on and go nowhere. Kate has appeared on One Tree Hill so that's why she has gotten so much exposure, but if it wasn't for that I don't think people would be interested in her beyond that. This album is pretty much forgettable I hate to say.

In a sea of weeds, here's a flower. Kate Voegele's music is refreshing because you can tell that it comes from the heart. Good songs are the ones that you just hear once and you can still remember them the next day. Kate Voegele's songs are all like that. ......and Kate obviously isn't blonde. But she is pretty, and she can sing. This is a bit harder rock than I personally care for, but it's quite well done. Kate has a very pleasing voice, and benefits from good back-up.
As I say, not really my cup of tea, but that's not Kate's fault. It is a rather good album, well performed, and you might just like it.
