This CD is one you have to check out. It's a mellow blend of jazz/pop/country and rock. This CD has great replay ability. This CD is mellow, and most songs are about love. When I first heard it, I pictured Katie sitting on a stool on the stage of a smokey bar room. While I'm not that big of a jazz fan, I greatly enjoy this album, as it's not over done. If you're looking for a great new CD to have playing in the background, or just to play, you NEED to buy this.Free Music Review: Undiscovered Singer

Combined with a beautiful, smooth and sultry voice with some great songs, this CD is a gem to have in a collection like her first album. Katie Melua is better known in the UK and still need to be discovered more by the masses in N. America. She's definitely in the ranks of other current great female blues/jazz vocalists like Diana Krall and Norah Jones. Her vocal style is different from the two singers mentioned but I found it a nice refreshing change.Free Music Review: Katie Melua is a joy to listen to.

I first heard Katie Melua when watching the film Miss Potter. I was immediately taken with her and ran out to buy this album. I have since turned a great many friends on to her and hopefully her popularity in the States will grow as much as it has in Europe. Her voice is unique and wonderful and strangely compelling. While some have compared her to Nora Jones (whom I also like very much), she has a very different sound and her songwriting is a joy.Free Music Review: Thank You Stars

Katie Melua is amazing. I recently saw Il Divo in concert and Katie opened up for them. I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought I'd give her a chance. As soon as I heard "I Cried For You," I got chills. Next night I bought the album which is incredible. Her remake of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" is wonderful and my favorite track on the Album is "Thank You Stars" definetly worth the money. Get It. Now.Free Music Review: Piece by Piece

This young artist is an inspiration. . she has a depth in style and her lyrics show an ability to understand the twists of emotion and human development far beyond her years. . when I see the youth of today producing this quality it inspires me to speak up to the critics of todays young people and to have hope that they have insights that will navigate them through a very complex world.
