Free Music Review: This isn't a blues man.
Hit: 2 Stars

You know those kind of records that makes you want to put back the old one's that you're used to? this is one of those. when i listened to this, i had an urge to put back Buddy Guy's "blues singer" album. i'ts kind of similar to that one, i mean, it's simple. so was Buddy's. but this doesn't even come close to that one, man. This isn't even blues if you ask me, It doesn't have the right sound to it, man. Though there are some good lyrics here, i really like the words to "Keep it simple", i just wish it had been performed by someone else, couse it can be quite hard to hear what Keb is singing at times. "Keep it simple" is an amusing blues tune, i like the lyrics. but most of the album is pop. and that's too bad, couse when keb sings the blues, i always like it. so the cd has mostly downfalls for us blues people, The tribute song to B.B. King has some confusing lyrics to it. If you love France and wants to leave USA, then the first track will please you. i don't know man.. i thought id finaly try on a keb mo album, ive heard people say that he doesnt stick to the blues, and after hearing this. i'll have to agree. when it comes to the younger generation of blues men, i think i preefer Mem Shannon. Keb Mo isn't true to the blues. Though Keb has done some good songs, i thought his version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison was awesome, i really bow to Keb Mo' for that. it's one of my favorite songs ever. you should check it out. i can't find any real blues on this album though, except 2 or maybe 3 tracks. but it's a decent album, though i rather recomend other blues artists. if you like guys like muddy, buddy guy, the hook, bb, matt murphy.. then this isn't it. this isn't anything like that. keb mo seems like a nice chap, but this isn't my cup of tea. maybe you'll enjoy it though. If it wasn't for track 5 and 7, i'd give this only one star. that's my opinion on this album and keb mo as an artist, my rewiev is getting totaly "no" voted, but i think this rewiev is helpful, youre voting no becouse you dont agree with me. the question is "was this rewiev helpful to you?", not "do you agree with him giving the album only 2 stars?". i bet you who voted "no" didnt even read this. just didnt like that i gave it a 2!
