Free Music Notes for WildflowerFree Music Review: Keiko Matsui: Wildflower Hit: 4 StarsFirst let me apologize, as I won't rate anything with a perfect five stars. But to rate it at four stars is saying something. I really like Keiko's music. It is an easy listening mix of fusion and jazz. It is great to listen to when I want to unwind during a hectic day. I would recommend it to everyone who is tired of the funk that is being produced today that others call music. Matter of fact, I have recommended it to others and they have bought Keiko's music for themselves as well.
Free Music Review: Wildflower Hit: 5 StarsThis is music is to relax with. Music that calms you down and forget about all your bad day events.
Free Music Review: A fresh sound from a great pianist Hit: 5 StarsI loved her early albums, but the last few seemed too much "same old same old" - very disappointing. The preview snips on this sounded promising and I am thankful I gave it a try. Lovely music, fresh riffs, much more original - more Keiko. Great sounds of jazz with a real touch of Keiko.
Free Music Review: Great Music for relaxing Hit: 5 StarsThis album is one of her best. If you like music without lyrics, that inspires your imagination, buy it.
Free Music Review: Another winner from jazz pianist Keiko Matsui! Hit: 5 Stars"Wildflower" is another feast for the ears and soul--a fervent brew of smooth, lushly orchestrated modern jazz with deep, dark overtones and sophisticated, organic arrangements. Pianist and composer Keiko Matsui is one of those artists who just keeps getting better and better. This is wonderfully stirring stuff, filled with both beauty and power! Matsui is joined on this album by Tomohito Aoki on bass, Akira Jimbo on percussion, Kazu Matsui on shakuhachi, and both Shinobu Ishizaki and Masamichi Nanji on soprano saxophone. Try her other releases too, as well as her collaboration with husband Kazu in "The Stone Monkey." Some other albums with a similar sense of sweep, sentiment and power, albeit in different musical styles, are "Nomad" by Jesse Cook (Latin fusion), "Luna Park" by Kila (Afro-Celtic fusion), "Angels of Venice" by the group of the same name (New Age / world fusion) and "Two Horizons" by Moya Brennan (Celtic-New Age fusion).
