Free Music Review: A NICE TAKE OFF

All watered-down, pop country acts please make way to this real deal, Mr.Gattis! This CD contains real country songs from the very beginning as you can hear the twin fiddles filling up the atmosphere all around you. 'The Puppet' which was penned by himself showed off a great voice as well as the story of being an underdog to his lover, sad but true! The CD wrapped up with an up-tempo 'Look Out Below' that could easily make you dance your balls off! He wrote or co-wrote 8 out of 10 songs in this self-titled album. The only thing that seemed to bug me a little bit was that, except for the first song 'Real Deal', the rest of his own materials were mono-tone, all dealing about heartache and dejection. Of course, if you write a love song, then you have to choose between a melancholy or a cheer up one. I would have given 5 Stars if there'd been such a variety. However, I have no hesitation in recommending this CD to any REAL country fan who feel the music row now is swarming with country songs which are not really country! This sure is good stuff.By the way, is there really gonna be your next album, Mr. Gattis? It's been a while now...
