The music is unsurprisingly glorious, as most of what this trio has played over the past 25 or so years.
For Jarrett critics, probably the best quote in the history of Jarrett's self-indulgence, from the liner notes "I want to thank Gary and Jack for sharing the struggle for artistic survival in a world of fakery, thoughtlessness, mimicry, diffidence, apathy, unconsciousness, laziness, empty virtuosity, ignorance and self-deceit." Amen.

This is a landmark album for the trio, which is a big statement, given their output for more than 20 years. This live set shows three musicians expressing themselves as no trio has done before. It is a set where everything is so perfectly in sync: these guys are swinging, they are having fun, and if you listen carefully (and often) you'll get a history lesson on jazz. Definitely a must-have for any Keith Jarrett, jazz, and/or jazz piano fans out there. Jarrett, Gary & Jack are swingin' their a**es off as usual... Can't say I'm the biggest fan of the stride-piano/ragtime reconstructions of a couple of tunes on here... but that is only IMHO ;)Free Music Review: IMPRESSIVE AND VIVID AS ALWAYS
