Free Music Notes for Talk Is CheapFree Music Review: Funky punky rock Hit: 5 StarsKeith shows his raw earthy talent, with almost a garage band feel...although a very tight professional garage band. Keith's raspy singing is perfectly soulful with a dash of punk, and all the women singing backup are excellent. It gets better each time I listen to it. A classic.
Free Music Review: Keith Richards Lets His Funk Loose Hit: 5 StarsWhat a unique album this is. Imagine a mix of solid old-school rock and roll, old-fashioned African-American funk (horns, backup singers, freaky bass lines), and even a little cajun on a few numbers, and you can kind of get an idea of what this album is all about. It's great fun to listen to from beginning to end. Keith Richards' voice is not the greatest, but he packs so much emotion and nuance into his singing that it more than makes up for it. Richards has always quested for the roots of rock and roll, and he continues to resurrect and refine ideas that created the genre--mixing jazz, rock, funk, and folk to create his own sounds. Encore!
Free Music Review: Gave it a listen, 18 years later Hit: 4 StarsI liked it much better when I gave it a listen 18 years after it was released. It is much better than any of the drivel that the Stones have released over the last 20 years, and certainly lends to the theory that Keith is and was the real composer of the two.
Steve Jordan shines on drums. He out "Charlies" Charley!
Free Music Review: This is the greatest musical genius of our time. Hit: 5 StarsListen carefully. This is the guy who wrote all of the Rolling Stones' songs and then let the other guy have some credit, the other guy being the greatest vocalist in the history of recorded music. Forget about all that drug and alcohol talk. Listen to him, revere him, respect him.
There is far more here than meets the eye.
Free Music Review: Solid album. Hit: 4 StarsThere is no "filler" on this album. This CD is a Keith fan's treasure.
