I have already listened the this entire album several times and absolutely love it from beginning to end. It is uplifting, happy, and sophisticated. The message of being open to love is something that we all need to hear at certain times in our lives. I would list a couple of my favorite songs, but I tried that and found myself listing all of the songs. The "journey" that the music takes you on is an element of this album not to be missed. Keith definitely gets better with each new album; although, I love all of his music. This is feel good music done with class and intelligence. Maybe I'm biased but I just don't think that Keith Urban knows how to make a bad album.
Defying Gravity sets itself apart from his previous work in that it has the obvious theme in that it is clearly one long love letter to his wife, but it's upbeat and affectionate tone also carries over to his fans.
Defying Gravity is a joyous celebration of love and desire that resonates in a simutaneous message of Hope & positivity. Having come thru a particularly dismal winter, this CD has really hit the spot! I think of it as induced Spring-Fever and will probably have my first copy worn out within a month.

Keith Urban's new CD "Defying Gravity" is a uplifting breath of fresh air in these uncertain times. Filled with upbeat, uptempo songs that express his contented place in life, the songs will put a smile on your face and a beat in your step. He returns to his country roots with more banjo, fiddle and mandolin while also throwing in a dash of an 80's feeling in several of the songs. Love is the central theme whether it be hoping for it (Kiss a Girl, Sweet Thing)relishing it(Only You Could Love Me This Way, Why's It Feel So Long) and honoring it (Thank You). If you've never heard of Keith Urban or his songs, you are really missing something wonderful. This is the CD to buy! The songs on these CD's take you back to a first kiss with someone new to not giving up on love and thanking the one you love. Keith has another hit with this CD. The songs are happy and witty. It will give you hope. Keith Urban is one of the greatest song writers and guitar players of our time. I saw him in person the other night and he played 4 of these songs and he sounds just like the CD. His songs are honest and go right to the heart. I have been listening to Keith's Defying Gravity CD for two days straight at work, and the more I listen to it the more I love it! I have been a fan of Keith's since 1997. I have every CD that he has ever put out, even the one he did in Australia. If you really love songs that are about love, then this CD is perfect. There are some ballad type songs, and then there are the ones that make you want to get up and dance. My favorite song is Hit the Ground Running. It is upbeat and just makes you smile everytime you listen to it! I hope you go and get the CD, and enjoy!!!
