Free Music Review: NOT YOUR TYPICAL COWBOY

I started loving country music again and this guy caught my eye. I like the idea about how some "cowboys" in music do not wear cowboy hats. Artists like Steve Azar and this guy Keith Urban. It's nice to see that there are some artists who stay true to their craft. I also like the idea of a country singer, without the hat. I know the hat is a symbol of country music; but I think you can still be a "good ole boy" without the hat. Keith Urban is one of them. I finally got to listen to Golden Road and I must say this is good, if not great, country music.
He stays true to what country music really is with songs like Somebody Like You, Whenever I Run and You Look Good In My Shirt. I especially like Jeans On. Jeans On seems like the typical cowboy song just hanging around the house. You"ll Think of Me is saying good-bye but remembering me. What About Me gives a sense of independence: Reba would be proud. You're Not Alone Tonight is a touching heartfelt journey into loneliness.
Overall this is one great cd to own-especially if you love country music. He knows what country music is and he is AUSTRALIAN.
This guy has a bright future in country and I hope to keep hearing from him for years to come.

For several years I worked as a Country radio D.J. and played just about everything that was popular and considered the latest "HOT" single. After leaving that field some time back to pursue other musical interests, I quit listening to a lot of "TODAY'S" country music and lost track of "WHO's-WHO" and "WHAT's-WHAT." Recently, however, while scanning through different radio stations on my car stereo, I heard Keith's single "Somebody Like You." I was so blown away by this song that I quickly scanned every country station I could find to hear it again. "Somebody Like You" has to be, in my opinion, one of the best "feel-good" songs that has come out in quite a while. I have just bought the album and the only way I can describe it is that "if I were stranded on a desert island and I could only have 10 CD's to listen to" this album would DEFINITELY be one of them! I especially liked the lyrics in the final cut "You Ain't My God." This project has made me a NEW Keith fan and I certainly recommend this album as a MUST BUY to all Keith Urban fans and especially to those who haven't listened to his music before.Free Music Review: Keith Urban....This is the best!!

When I get upset or depressed I put this cd in and turn it up. I don't know what it is about him his music and the way he sings but it helps me and drive me wild all at the same time! It's a rush thats for sure. Jus like Keith said, "This album is like the sixth time you meet your girlfriends parents." So to you Keith...

The man thinks of ALL his family and treats us that way. He is one of the few if not the ONLY artist in country music that will sit down and talk to ya when you meet him. He's just that down to earth! I am trying my best to help Keith in all he does by requesting his songs and videos. He gives so much to his fans, why not give some back to him and join the Keith Urban I-Squad? I know I have and that helps him out and while you do that YOU can win stuff too!
Free Music Review: AUSSOME ALBUM!!!

I absolutely LOVE this album-it's Keith at his best! This album shows more rock and looseness than his previous releases and he says that it hows more of him. He said his previous albums were about letting himself out a little bit and this one was letting more out. And the difference can definitely be seen. "Golden Road" is more country rock to me, as far as songs like "Somebody Like You", "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me", "You Won", and "You Look Good In My Shirt" go. But Keith can tune it down just like that with beautiful ballads such as "You'll Think Of Me", "Raining On Sunday", "Whenever I Run", and "You're Not Alone Tonight." Then there's the in-between stuff: "You're Not My God", "What About Me", "Song For Dad", and the remake of the pop hit "Jeans On." The songs deal with love, beating addiction, losing love, God, and pure fun and shows Keith's amazing songwriting skills as well as fantastic guitar playing.
"Golden Road" is a MUST HAVE Keith Urban album!
Free Music Review: Upbeat feel good country...

Keith Urban can sing a ballad with the best of the country crooners, but I love him for his upbeat songs. Somebody Like You and What About Me are gems. You Look Good in My Shirt is a fun song that I love to crank up in the car and sing along to. Who Wouldn't Want to Be Me is a precious song to me because it has cheered me up on so many blue days. Its a real life affirming song.
As for the "mushy" songs, Whenever I Run is a beautiful song about running to your love instead of runnning away like all those time before. I always ask my husband to dance with me to this song. Guys---make a note----this song will melt your girl's heart. A Song for Dad is probably the strongest song lyrically on the CD & will evoke strong emotions. I included it on a mixed CD I made for my dad & it brought tears to his eyes.
The only song I'm not crazy about is You're Not Alone Tonight. Its a bit too formulaic. Feels like I've heard it from a bunch of other artists before.
Otherwise this is one of my all time favorite albums which I have listened to time and time again.
