Free Music Notes for Golden RoadFree Music Review: Urban Rules! Hit: 5 Stars
Aussie rock-country is the freshest, hippest kick-butt music besides Rascal Flatts happening out there now. Regardless of what the critics say, fans can hear this guy's incredible talent exploding into superstardom. Keith promises this on his song "Whenever I Run" where he tells us what's happening to him right here and now where he sings "the best is yet to come". I'm a believer. "You're Not Along Tonight" is just gorgeous with the harmonies that get you in the gut. I love the unique little catch in his terrific voice. He is great on "Song for Dad" and heartbreaking on "Raining on Sunday" with the aching harmonies.Urban has outrageous mojo working for him. He has a cool name, a gorgeous Star quality look and that super hip international vibe working for him like fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman. The guitar work throughout the entire CD is outrageous. "What About Me" is telling us to pay attention to him. On "You'll Think of Me" and "You Look Good in my Shirt" the percussion is smokin'. In fact, this entire CD is smokin'.
Free Music Review: This one will reap rewards and awards!! Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say that hasn't already been said? This cd is fantastic, it's all I've been listening to since Oct. 8th....even with recent releases from some of the top country artists, (and some of my favorites). I just can't get enough of the fluid vocals which have a soothing quality, the infectuous melodies and amazing guitar wizardry that shines through in the guitar solos. From the first track, the #1 song for 8 weeks, "Somebody Like You", through the rest of the album, Keith displays a range of emotions; one can't help but 'feel' the music, such honesty comes mostly from lyrics being written by Keith based on personal experiences. I have many favorites, including "Whenever I Run" and "Raining on Sunday" (slower tempo songs, great for indulging in a reflective mood), as well as "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and "You Look Good In My Shirt", which make me wish for a sunny summer day to hop in my car, open the windows, and crank it up. The only thing better is a live performance of the songs by Keith.
Free Music Review: Another perfect 10! Hit: 5 Stars
Wow, Keith did it again! His music it getting better all the time. This CD has a lot more of Keith's aussome guitar pickin, or as Keith said, "it's more musically muscular". The CD kicks off with two high energy songs that are guaranteed to get your toes tappin. Jeans On is a great rendition of the old version. Let's hope for a jeans commercial with this one! Song number 7 - You Look Good In My Shirt has #1 written all over it. You would expect it to be a Tim McGraw hit...thank goodness Keith got a hold of it! Raining On Sunday is my favorite track off of this CD. This is one of those songs that you'll be holding up your lighter to at his concerts!! It talks about praying for rain so that you can get away from the hectic world and snuggle under the covers with your lover all day. ***bonus track!!*** After song 12,You're Not My god, Keith plays his "One Chord Song". What a hoot! You have to FWD to minute 6 and 19 seconds of track 12. Crank it up and soak in the sarcasm!
Free Music Review: Golden Road Hit: 5 Stars
Keith Urban is an awesome guitar player as well as spectacular song writer. I can hear it in his voice that he puts his whole self into his music. I have copies of all three of his previous albums and including Golden Road, they are all great! I have three favorites on this album. Somebody Like You...shows in Keiths belief that there is indeed someone out there for him. He's had a tough road in the romance department but when he finds it, he'll know. And he will find it! Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me...just a pick-me-up song that states a simple fact...I love my life!! Very uppity...I love it! And then Song For Dad sends such a personal message that he and his dad are the only two that know the true meaning behind Keiths words. It tells me how proud he is of his father and to be his son. It's great! I love all the songs on Golden Road but these three especially. I hope Keith keeps up his music career...all of it. Can't wait for a concert in NY again, Keith is my number one all time favorite!!
Free Music Review: Keith Urban... Golden Road.. wonderful CD Hit: 5 Stars
This Cd is one of the best Cds I have heard. It blends together the three wonderful talents Keith has; playing music, singing, and songwriting, and brings entertainment all at the same time. If your not a big country fan, take a listen and I'm sure you'll be converted. Keith has his own distinct way of blending "rock n roll" guitar with "country" banjo and making it sound better than ever before. Not to mention the wonderful songs. This album is like going to a therapy session if you are depressed, it brings your mood up and energizes you while your listening. "You'll Think Of Me" puts a new meaning to normally sad break up songs, and "Your Not Alone Tonight" is very inspiring. While other songs such as "You Look Good In My Shirt", "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and a great remake of "Jeans On" will leave you energized and ready for more... And there are more! 12 songs make this Cd lengthy and very much worth your money.
