Free Music Notes for All I Ever WantedFree Music Review: 4th Album brings it, but is it all we ever wanted??? hmnm. Hit: 5 Stars
In my opinion, I think this album is brilliant. I loved every single one of her albuns, because each one sounds different. All I Ever Wanted is actaully my favorite.
1. My Life Sucks Without You: 5/5 Everyone knows this one. It's her awesome first single. ANd i think it was the right choice making this as the first track to set the album off. It's a catchy pop song that gets stuck in your head. Love iitt!!
2. I Do Not Hook Up: 4/5 One of Katy Perry's songs given to Clarkson, you can so tell his is Perry's. It's not really something that reminds you of something Kelly would do, but it's still good, just not my favorite.
3. Cry: 5/5 A brilliant and one of my favorite tracks. Everyone of Kelly's albums has that one amazing ballag in it. The Trouble With Love Is on Thankful, Because of You on Breakaway, Sober on My December and now Cry on All I Ever Wanted. It has beautiful lyrics and it's just a simply amazing song.
4. Don't Let Me Stop You: 5/5 Another great song. It's definetly more of a rock song than pop, but the lyrics are awesome and the chorus is infectious. Don't skip this one.
5. All I Ever Wanted: 5/5 Probably the coolest track on the album. I love the mixture of different instruments in the chorus. It stands out and is just an awesome song to listen to.
6. Already Gone: 5/5 My favorite track on the album, this song is amazing. Possibly a single too. Her voice is enhanced with this haunting echo. The song has nice lyrics and it's really catchy. The best song on the album.
7. If I Can't Have You: 4/5 A good track. It has a good beat and the lyrics are pretty good. Not my favorite though, but is also a potential single.
8. Save You: 5/5 A very different song. It's written by her and Ryan Tedder from Onerepublic. It just souns like something we could of heard from Onerepublic's album, Dreaming Out Loud. Its a very meaningful song, and I have a feeling this song is going to be very underrated.
9. Whyyawannabringmedown: 2/5 The worst song on the album, in my opinion. It's just not Kelly. It belongs on some heavy rock album, not here.
10. Long Shot: 4.5/5 Another song written by Katy Perry and this one is better than I Do Not Hook Up. The song is awesome, and the beginning is infectious. A standout, definetly.
11. Impossible: 5/5 This song is freakin awesome. It's a heavy song, and it shows her awesome vocals to a new high. I love this track.
12. Ready: 3.5/5 Not my favorite, but it's not bad. It just reminds me of something the was just thrown in. Not something I can listen to over and over again.
13. I Want You: 3.5/5 Okay. This is the song that everyone is either going to hate or love. It is very very different from everything else that Kelly has done. I personally think its pretty good. Just not my favorite. It's got like a 60's trend to it.
14. If No One Will Listen: 4/5 A beautiful ballad. Not as good as Cry, but still amazing. Her vocals are pretty here and the song is really pretty.
Overall, the album is awesome, but if it didn't reallt have track 9, it would have been a little better. But I still recommend it.
:D
Free Music Review: Kelly Clarkson. Incredible Hit: 5 Stars
Kelly Clarkson never fails to amaze me. She began as America's Idol, and is now a superstar in her own right.
On her first album, she delivered what she had to: Thankful, a smooth, sometimes indulgent set of classic pop ballads and radio-ready cuts to satisfy the Idol faithful as well as the radio-listening, CD-purchasing public. Then she moved on.
Her second album, Breakaway, was a career-defining album. She was able to step out of Idol's shadow without losing any of herself. Breakaway is perhaps the best pop album to be released this decade. It proved a success with critics as well as on the charts. 6 #1 singles were released off of this album, and it earned her two grammy awards among countless other awards and recognition. Kelly declared herself a superstar and made sure everyone heard her. We did, loud and clear.
Her third outing, My December, was a step in a different, more mature direction for Kelly. The album was surrounded by bad buzz, and it was met with harsh reactions from critics and fans alike. Some fans loved it, some loathed it and longed for 'old Kelly.' It was considered a disappointment of an album, not artistically but commercially. ('Failure' is a term used loosely, and only in comparison to Breakaway; December still sold 2.5 million copies worldwide and went platinum in the US.)
On All I Ever Wanted, Kelly had to reclaim her throne. She had prove herself yet again as a serious force in pop music. She also had to avoid complete commercialization, so as not to lose the artistic integrity she showed on December. And Wanted is a wild success on all accounts. Her fourth album is a smart collection of radio-ready, sure-fire hits such as I Do Not Hook Up and Long Shot, as well as the #1 hit My Life Would Suck Without You. Throw into the mix some of Kelly's classic power ballads, such as Already Gone and Cry, and the album is a complete vision. It's both all she's ever wanted and all her fans ever wanted: the perfect pop album. While certain songs, such as Whyyawannabringmedown and Impossible, are weaker tracks, it's important to remember that there are 14 tracks here. Two weak songs out of 14 ain't too shabby. Kelly also explores the world of auto-tuning and dance-pop-synth on If I Can't Have You, and gives us sugary-sweet pop on I Want You.
I can confidently say that this album will continue to receive radio play for all of its (many) future singles, possibly through the beginning of 2011. This album might not out-sell Breakaway, but the music industry has changed. No one sells 6 million copies anymore, but I think All I Ever Wanted will be on the charts for months to come. It will sell well, because it is an incredible album and has legs to stand on its own. I believe Kelly has outdone herself, and won't need to prove herself yet again in the future.
She's Kelly Clarkson. She is a superstar. She is here to stay. She is all we've ever wanted, and our lives would suck without our Idol.
Free Music Review: All I Ever Wanted Hit: 5 Stars
I first got Kelly Clarkson's fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, during this summer but did not write a review about it until now. I wanted to give myself sometimes to think about each song that it on the album, the way Kelly sings each song, how different they are, the booklet, ect. So now after hearing Already Gone on the radio plenty of times, I decided to start with the review.
Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted album came out March 6, 2009 and I instantly snatched it up. I've been a long time Kelly fan since American Idol. When I first heard her sing on AI, I knew right then and there that I really liked her. Her voice when she talks is all sweet and country sounding but when she opens up her mouth to sing, it blows you away with her powerful vocal range and the sassiness that she can give out with one word of a song.
The follow up to 2007s My December, All I Ever Wanted shows Kelly attitude with her vocals. Each song has a personal meaning, almost like My December but more rock to it. You could say that it's almost like Breakaway but not. This one shows her rocker edge than her previous CDs and I like that. Although I will admit some of her songs are very popish and may not seem like Kelly, but her vocals and the way she gets into the songs are worth listing to. I always knew that Kelly had mad vocal ranges but you don't really see that until this album.

Free Music Review: A Brighter Rainbow Hit: 5 Stars
I believe that Kelly Clarkson (and her people) reconsidered her image after her last album, "My December". I thought it was her best yet, but some found it to be too dark and strident. Thus, a compromise was effected. The first 4 tracks on "All I Ever Wanted" are pretty much safe, formulaic pop - good enough, because Kelly is a terrific vocalist, and she is obviously surrounded by talented collaborators. These 4 were probably designed to attract those who were not pleased with "My December". But it seems that after track #4, she said, "Enough. I want diversity." So, with track #5, the title track, the diversity begins.
The funny thing is, that one sounds like it would have been right at home on "My December": a little dark, a little hard. And from this point on, each track was a pleasant surprise to me on the first listen. Some resemble those on "My December", such as "If I Can't Have You", which also leans toward early 80's New Wave. When I reviewed "My December", I mentioned Pat Benatar. Pat's spirit is invoked again on "WhyYaWannaBringMeDown", in its tone, aggressive vocal and guitar work. But other tracks are softer while still showing growth and creativity. "Ready" has a musical intro so light and breezy that I almost expect Simon & Garfunkel to start singing, "Slow down, you're movin' too fast/You got to make the morning last...Feelin' groovy." "Already Gone" is one of those rare pop confections that is nearly perfect: confessional lyrics, very catchy melody, emotional vocal delivery. I hear this song every day on the radio and never, never get tired of it. "I Want You" is a clever, playful song which has a lot of fun with the 3 words in the title, and it features the interesting device of ending a line of the song with a word that is actually the first word of the next line. This is also done in "Already Gone". It can be disconcerting at first, but once you get used to it, you see that it is just part of the variation from the norm that Kelly offers. As on "My December", Kelly closes the album with a song that has serious lyrics and intimate vocal. "If No One Will Listen" is a ballad about being yourself and following your dream, with traditional piano and strings.
The finished product is an album that combines bright, imaginative elements with the pop expertise we have already come to expect from Kelly's albums.
Free Music Review: This Album Made Me Love Kelly Hit: 5 Stars
Let me preface this by saying I have never really been a Kelly fan. Sure I had the breakaway cd- but it was really only for "Since U Been Gone" and "Walk Away."
Then I saw Kelly Clarkson perform live at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL this March and it all changed. I was impressed with her vocals, stage presence and some of the new material she premiered from All I Ever Wanted. I bought the new cd and was floored at how much I LOVED IT!
I am a 23 year old female who likes everything from Linkin Park to 311 to No Doubt to Missy Elliot...it is clear I like variety and this album has it all! It is simply pop-rock perfection. Clarkson writes a huge chunk of this album and experiments in all different generes.
Here's a quick breakdown:
1- My Life Would Suck w/o You- Defineatly a radio smash and fun to listen to, but not the best on the album. 4/5
2-I Do Not Hook Up- A fantasic summer anthem! 5/5
3-Cry- Didn't like it first listen as it is very much like a waltz, but it has really grown on me. 4/5
4-Don't Let Me Stop You- Fun rock song. 4/5
5-All I Ever Wanted- A fantastic song! I wish it could be a single! 5/5
6-Already Gone- Her next single, a nice halo esq song (fyi recorded before Halo) 4/5
7-If I Can't Have You- a dance track for Kelly Clarkson!? Who knew she had it in her! 5/5
8-Save You- The best ballad on the cd, beautiful. 5/5
9-Whyyawannabringmedown- Kelly channels the Clash and Jet for this in your face fun song! 5/5
10-Longshot- Katy perry fans will like, I think its a little too borning for Kelly. 2/5
11-Impossible- A great inspiration song, clearly written about the My December drama. 3/5
12-Ready- The imagery and composition are fantastic- one of my favorites! 5/5
13-I Want You- A fun Duffy esq throwback song, it will have you singing along. 4/5
14-If No One Will Listen- another ballad, great if you like the inspirational songs. 2/5
15- (Deluxe Only) Tip of My Tongue- A hip hop jam?! Fantastic! 5/5
16- (Deluxe only) The Day We Fell Apart- too all over the place. 1/5
As a last note I have since picked up Clarkson's other albums: My December and Thankful and let me just say My December is a must if you are a fan of Clarkson or of agressive pop-rock music.
