Free Music Review: All I Ever Wanted - A FANTASTIC CD from Kelly Clarkson
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're looking for a really diverse, and FUN CD to listen to, then look no further than this!

First, I am a Kelly Clarkson fan, have been since I first saw her on American Idol back in 2002. I've actually really enjoyed all her albums, but felt she really hit her groove with Breakaway, and then continued to surprise and delight me with her last outing, My December.

This CD bridges both worlds, it plays to her harder edge, the one she explored more fully on My December and mixes it up with the poppier and more radio-friendly melodies she displayed on Breakaway - and the result is a smash! All I Ever Wanted is one of those rare CD's, you know, the kind where all the songs are good, and you don't skip past alot of them when listening to it.

On All I Ever Wanted, Kelly displays versatility, most of the songs styles are pretty different, but all of them are held together by one of the surest and strongest voices in pop today. She co-wrote about half the CD, but this time, chose to collaborate with writers who have a greater ability to provide her with the memorable, and yes, more hooky arrangements and melodies that we will undoubtfully be listening to for the greater part of 2009.

My favorite songs change with each listen, an amazing thing! Right now the standout tracks are I Do Not Hook Up, All I Ever Wanted, Cry, Long Shot, Already Gone and If I Can't Have You... However, I find it interesting that if I had written this review yesterday, I might have chosen other songs...

Is it glossy and aimed at radio? Absolutely! But her voice and her personality shines throughout each cut, and I have to wonder...is there anything that she CAN'T sing? I love her voice, and when you mix that voice with tunes that are this catchy, the result is pure magic..

I love Kelly, and yes, I have a soft spot for her more cohesive and personal (but less radio-friendly) music on My December.. But, I have to say, the music on this CD is definitely more accessible, and more fun to listen to.. If given a choice, I would much rather have Kelly singing to me when I turn on my radio than anyone else... so this CD works perfectly for me!

Free Music Review: Kelly's best complete album, in my opinion
Hit: 5 Stars

Track for track, I think this is Kelly's best effort yet. I have to say, the first six songs of "Breakaway" were amazing, but the album had some filler tracks toward the end ("I Hate Myself For Losing You" and "Where is Your Heart", to name a couple).

Dr. Luke and Max Martin return this time around - "My Life Would Suck Without You", though a little overproduced at times, is a surefire radio hit that has gotten this era off to a solid start.

It has been confirmed that "I Do Not Hook Up", a Katy Perry song, is the second single. It appears that they are targeting the younger crowd with these first couple releases. With that said, this is a solid track with a catchy hook that will continue to get Kelly Top 40 airplay.

The rest of the CD does not disappoint. "Cry" is Kelly's best vocal performance on a studio track; "Don't Let Me Stop You" is similar to "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and should be a single.

Ryan Tedder collaborated with Kelly on several songs here - "Already Gone" is already selling will on iTunes and will likely be the third single if "Cry" isn't released. He also produced the Miley Cyrus-like "If I Can't Have You". This song is a bit different for Kelly as they added some effects on Kelly's vocals, but it still is a great pop song. "Save You", lyrically, is a beautiful song that gives me chills every time I hear it.

"Long Shot", another Katy Perry song, is insanely catchy and keeps the momentum going. Another standout for me is "I Want You" - it has a 60's vibe and Kelly sounds great on it. Finally, Kelly produced the album's final track, "If No One Will Listen"... honestly, I'm not crazy about the song itself, but Kelly sounds amazing on it.

The Deluxe version of Kelly's CD has two great bonus tracks: "Tip of My Tongue" and "The Day We Fell Apart". Kelly has described the latter as "rad", and I have to agree. Overall, I love this CD and I think Kelly found a happy medium of writing/producing songs but still allowing great songwriters to contribute great pop material to be on the album.

5/5 stars!

Free Music Review: Kelly Clarkson, the Princess of Pop!
Hit: 5 Stars

Kelly Clarkson's Latest Album "All I Ever Wanted" is a solid mixture of Pop, Light Rock and Ballads that make fans like me, enjoy her work. The diversity of styles reminds me of her album, Breakaway. She is so dynamic and talented with this group of songs.

Many of her songs have a message or story that young adults and teenagers can relate to.

I never get tired of "My life would suck without you". It's a great pop song. It is no wonder that it was one of the fastest climbers in the Billboard charts from 97 to #1.

"Long Shot" is typical Kelly Clarkson style. This is likely the 3rd release from this album. I love this song.

The title track "All I Ever Wanted" showcases her trademark style. This has to end up in the Billboard Top 10.

"I Do Not Hook Up" is going to be a great bar scene song where women will sing this song to "Pick Up Artists". It's a great and liberating song.

"Cry" and "Don't Let Me Stop You" are 'break up' songs with the heart and enthusiasm that Miss Clarkson can deliver.

"If No One Will Listen", "Already Gone" and "Save You" are wonderful ballads.

"I Want You" is reminiscent of a Doo Wop songs from the 50s and 60s. I love this song!

Overall, the mixture of ballads, pop songs and light rock, this album will entertain you. I can see this album winning her a Grammy and going Platinum.

Free Music Review: Pop-Rock Perfection with a Little Punk Thrown In
Hit: 5 Stars

I must admit, I wasn't crazy about the first single off of this album ["My Life Would Suck Without You"] when I heard it on the radio. It reminded me of some kind of Cher comeback song, a la "Believe", and was too techno/dancey for my taste. But eventually, it grew on me to the point where I thought "Hmm, that would be fun to work out to", so I took a gamble and picked up the album as opposed to just buying the single.

This cd does NOT disappoint. There is an energy to it that does not drop from beginning to end. Whether belting out a power ballad such as "Cry" or rocking out to "I Do Not Hook Up", Kelly's vocals are in fine form, taking the slightly-above-average material and elevating it to a solid, grade A body of work.

This is definitely a pop-rock album (emphasis on the 'rock') with a punk edge to it, and is a little reminiscent of Pink's more recent work. Unlike other albums where it sometimes takes awhile for the songs to grow on you, these tracks are 100% "ready to wear" and get stuck in your head from the first listen.

I'd say this is [arguably] Kelly's best album to date, and proves that the original American Idol is still is the best. Other contestants could learn a lot from her career and growth as an artist, and this cd should be their text book for Pop 101.

Free Music Review: Brilliant
Hit: 5 Stars

When Breakaway came out that was the best pop album of the decade. Not anymore!!!! All I Ever Wanted steals that title from Breakaway. All I Ever Wanted is one of the best pop album of this decade. I dont usually rush to amazon to write reviews but i did this time. I'm so excited about this album that i wanted to let everyone know how awesome it is. Every song has the potential to be a top five hit. All i ever wanted is even more catchier than Breakaway. When i first started listening to it i one song would end and i would expect the next song to be filler because not every song on an album can be good.....right?????? WRONG. Every song on this album is instantaneously catchy and will stay in your head forever. I think my favorite song is Already Gone. I got goosebumps all over me when i first listened to it. I listened to that song about 30 or 40 times the day i bought this album before i would listen to any of the other songs on it. My life would suck without you is just the beginning. I think this album will outsell Breakaway and it will launch Kelly's fame into the stratosphere. All i ever wanted is how pop music should be done. It's the standard for what pop music should be. All i ever wanted is going to be THE album of 2009.
