Free Music Notes for All I Ever Wanted

Free Music Review: Not as good as Breakaway, but almost
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't imagine how hard it must be for Kelly to please her fans. In Breakaway, she released one of those albums that people will be listening to decades from now. Everything knew she does will be compared to it, and I'd guess she'll always fall short, at least in the eyes of some. That's the life of an artist, I suppose, but it's got to be tough to keep up your creativity when people say your best work is behind you.

But you know what? Somehow, with All I Ever Wanted, Kelly transcended all of that.

It might not be QUITE as good as Breakaway, but it's close. More importantly though, it's good without being a copycat album. She explores some new territory here, producing some songs that have a slightly less pop/rock feel. I think Kelly has done an excellent job of evolving with the music industry and staying relevant. It's hard for her lots of artists to do that, but Kelly has.

The bottom line: if you've been wondering whether this is just another tired album from a pop artist milking her fan base, then you can stop worrying. This is a great album, and while I'm not sure it'll endure as well as Breakaway, it's definitely one that you'll be playing over and over for a long time.

Free Music Review: She's Baaaaaaack!
Hit: 5 Stars

I never bought the My December album - I didn't want to taint my image of Kelly. I've been a fan since I watched her win Idol - I can sing along to any song from her first album and have a good time. When I heard the single for "My Life Would Suck Without You", it was still in my head days later, and I decided to buy the album when it came out. That might be the best $14 I've spent so far this year. It's the kind of CD that I blare in my car with the windows down - I'm beating the top of my steering wheel, singing along, and I LOVE THIS CD. It's got a little bit of techno, some popish, some rockish, a few fantastic ballads... It's great - and I'm so happy for her. What better way to prove to the people who didn't like My December than to release this album, which is sure to produce many #1's for her. My Life Would Suck Without You, firstly. Then, I think she should release Long Shot, Cry, I Do Not Hook Up - those are my favorites, but really any song could find comfort in the top of the charts. I'm really proud of Kelly, really happy with the album, and really glad that I walked into Target and bought the CD. You should too - it's got something for everyone and it's just awesome! Way to go, Kelly!

Free Music Review: Worth the Wait
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a long-time fan of Kelly's and after listening to this new album, the reason is definitely justified! From "My Life Would Suck Without You" to "Already Gone" to "If No One Will Listen", most of the songs showcase her voice perfectly and there's a little bit of everything for all of her fans.

Personally I love her upbeat stuff and then to transition to the haunting songs like "Already Gone" - which I love so much more than Beyonce's Halo even though they have similar qualities - Kelly doesn't just repeat one word over and over, but brings out lots of emotions in the song. This song reminds me of Save Ferris' "Let Me In" - haunting, beautiful, and spot on.

I also really love "I Do Not Hookup". At first listen, Kelly's voice draws you into the song, then the beat catches you in and the rest of the song is just great!

All of the other songs on here are a mix of dance/pop and also pure Kelly ballads.

I think people who liked her My December album and her Breakaway albums will not be disappointed with All I Ever Wanted!

Free Music Review: Don't worry, Kelly, we ARE listening!
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say ? All I Ever Wanted is definitely all I ever wanted in a pop/rock album. It is another great achievement from Kelly, and she managed to do it differently, again! The album is fresh, innovative and don't sound like her previous albums, even though there are some similarities. This CD has everything to go platinum. First of all, we have Kelly's superb vocals. Second, really catchy tunes and chorus in all the songs. There are also beautiful and inspiring lyrics. Diversity is another factor I have to pinpoint since the songs are very different from one another and they are arranged in a line between hard pop/rock and ballads. So, mix a little bit of everything and that's All I Ever Wanted.

I can say I loved all the songs but if I was to choose the release of the singles I'd choose my favorites, which are:
- My Life Would Suck Without You
- Don't Let Me Stop You
- Already Gone
- If I Can't Have You
- Impossible

I give this CD 10/10.

Long live Kelly!!! :D

Free Music Review: Best female vocalist out there
Hit: 5 Stars

Truthfully, see JR Gonzalez's review on 03/10/09. It's quite spot on for each song! Yes, the Katy Perry penned songs are easily identifiable but wouldn't we rather have Kelly sing them than Katy? I bought the deluxe version so there are two extra songs and I must say, if you can, buy it over the regular version.

15. Tip of My Tongue, 5 stars, a more intense style, reminds me number 11 Impossible
16. The Day We fell Apart, 3.5 stars, I liked it, very dance clubby

9. Whyyawannabringmedown -- ** UPDATE, DANG SONG HAS GROWN ON ME ** well it's truly the only song I can't stand. It brings to mind Tia Carerre in Wayne's World.

Special note - Song #13 I Want You - This is the most annoyingly happy song you'll ever get stuck in your head. It's very bubble-gummy and joyful but you'll want to write it off at the first listening but it has other ideas and you'll find yourself humming it all day long, singing with your dog's name in the lyrics, bobbing your head in the car...
