Free Music Review: Kelly is back! And the results are spectacular!
Hit: 5 Stars

Kelly's second album blows her debut (and many other pop albums) right out of the water! Kelly has been able to leave the spotlight and come back stronger than ever! Even Ruben and Clay (though they both had strong first week sales for their debut albums) haven't produced the amount of success on the charts as Kelly has. After leaving us with a stellar year with hits like A Moment Like This, Low, The Trouble With Love Is, and one of 2003's biggest, Miss Independent, Kelly scores again with the HUGE hit Breakaway. This song, though not the album's best, really captures who Kelly is and where she is right now. She has really broken away from being Idol's first winner and is now a huge star in her own right. The follow-up single Since U Been Gone has been considered "radio's Christmas gift" with its infectious beat and soaring vocals! This song is rapidly rising the charts like Breakaway did and it's being requested everywhere like wildfire!

As for the rest of the album...you WILL NOT be disappointed! If the second half of the album was not as good as it was, I'd say this album was heavily frontloaded. The first six tracks are basically hit, after hit, after hit! Behind These Hazel Eyes, produced by Max Martin (hitmaker who wrote hits for Britney, BSB, and *N Sync in the 90's) is probably one of the top two songs, for me, on this album. Similar to pop hits from the 90's, but with the same rockier feel as Since U Been Gone, this is a song you just wanna turn up and blast out loud! The next track Because Of You has been considered by many to be potential Grammy-winning material and I would most definitely agree! Co-written with ex-members of Evanescence (Ben Moody and David Hodges), this song is one of the best I have ever heard! A power ballad that stands above them all! Very touching and sentimental, Kelly really puts her heart into this personal song. The next track, Gone, written by some of Ashlee Simpson's hitmakers, is in the same vein as SUBG and BTHE with its edgy pop style and the song works very well with Kelly's vocals. Seriously, Kelly's own background vocals on this track, especially towards the end, are worth listening to alone! Everything blends so well together on this track! Addicted is also by the ex-Evanescence guys and is probably the "masterpiece" of the album. Most people say that this is the best song of the album and I think I'll have to agree. Haunting music and lyrics, this song is a real gem. The song is quite similar to the second-to-last track of the album, Hear Me. Both are very dark yet passionate tracks that are both very hit-worthy. Supposedly Hear Me was supposed to be the first single from this album, until Breakaway became such a huge, unexpected hit!

The tracks in between are all solid! Where Is Your Heart is a calming, smooth track and the vocals are particularly strong in this song. Walk Away, written by Canadian artist Chantal Kreviazuk and husband Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, is an extremely fun, catchy song, while the cliche pop of the upbeat tracks You Found Me and I Hate Myself For Losing You are surprisingly very effective. You Found Me has an amazing chorus and it's one of the songs I've found myself repeating. Finally, the live version of Beautiful Disaster is...the one of the BEST vocal performances (live OR studio!!!) from any artist ever! She sounds perfect...flawless in every way possible! Much better than the debut studio version, this live version shows off Kelly's amazing power and control!

This album is really wonderful and if you like Kelly's first album, Breakaway/Since U Been Gone, or just pop music in general (this album is a real plus if having actually good vocal ability matters to you), you'll LOVE this album!

Free Music Review: Best Album I've Ever Listened Too!
Hit: 5 Stars

Although I was not an immediate fan of Kelly Clarkson's music from the beggining, I always knew from American Idol there was something I liked about her.. She had a truely amazing voice on top of her humble, southern charm. It was when Miss Independent was released that I was hooked on her. Her album Breakaway was highly anticipated for me and was well worth the wait. Never in my life have I heard an entire album from an artist where each song is so beautifully sang and filled with such deep, meaningful lyrics ( About half the album was written by Kelly herself).

Breakaway- (9.5/10) This song definetly ranks high in my top favorite songs. It was such a perfect debut and I can really relate to the lyrics of wanting to be noticed and reach for my dreams.

Since U Been Gone- (10/10) I knew this song would be a smash hit. Each verse gets more and more addictive as the song progresses. It's a great impowering song!

Behind These Hazel Eyes- (10/10) This is my all time favorite fast song she's ever done. There is so much emotions in the lyrics and I think anyone can relate to it.

Because Of You- (11/10) Her upcoming fourth single, this is truely the one song by any artist that has completely touched me. It was written by Kelly when she was 16 about her father who walked out on her and her family when she was only 6. She said the song is about anyone whose ever grown up in a broken home. I'm one of those people as my father was an abusive alcoholic and this song either makes me teary eyed or gives me the chills everytime I hear it. Because Of You is truely Grammy deserving!

Gone- (9.5/10) Another addictive rock song like Since U Been Gone. It's completely about moving on and forgetting about the past.

Addicted- (10/10) Like Because Of You, this song was produced by Ben Moody and David Hodges from Evanescence. Kelly wrote this track when she was 19 years old. It's her 5th single after Because Of You, and a very dark, deep song. It's about being totally obsessed and addicted to a person. No matter how hard she tries, she jsut can't release herself from the person.

Where Is Your Heart (8.5/10) This song took me time to warm up to. Kelly wrote this song about the same guy she wrote Behind These Hazel Eyes about. It's a very plain ballad in my opinion but it really showcases Kell'y vocal range. Very nice track.

Walk Away- (8/10) Walk Away is a really upbeat, poppy rock track. Not the best track on the album, but it's a lot of fun to sing to in the car.

You Found Me- (9/10) A song I really enjoy. It's really about someone who's always there for you and sees you for who you are. They're there for you in your ups and downs.

I Hate Myself For Loosing You- (9/10) One of the more bitter songs on the album. This song is definetly a remorseful song about a relationship ending.

Hear Me- (10/10) Kelly really belts this song out! Great rock song!

Beautiful Disaster (Live) - (7.5/10) I only rated it a 7.5 because this is an older song from her first album. The version on Breakaway was taken from her Independent Tour and is a totally stripped down version of the song with just Kelly's vocals and a piano. It's very pretty!

Even if you're not a Kelly Clarkson fan, this album is completely worth buying. So many of my friends never liked Kelly but really changed their minds when they heard me play her songs in my car 24/7. Everyone can connect to at least one song on this album, if not all of them! Kelly's already writing her 3rd album. It will be hard to top Breakaway but I know she'll do it!

Free Music Review: Kelly breaks away
Hit: 5 Stars

Holiday's got you down? Feeling clueless as to what to buy for your friends or family? Well, you have reached the Promised Land! For, a certain former American Idol has just released her second album "Breakaway," and this time it's all about the rock n' roll. In April of 2003, Kelly Clarkson released her debut CD "Thankful." The album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Charts and has gone double platinum since. Despite what album sales might prove, "Thankful" was slightly underwhelming. Nothing special, nothing to make you go `wow.' Now, if you are a "hardcore" Kelly Clarkson fan then of course you would go `wow' at anything the Original American Idol released. (Yes, including the not-so critically acclaimed movie, From Justin to Kelly.) And it's not to say that "Thankful" was a terrible album, it just lacked what made Miss Clarkson so popular in the first place; personality.
Now, she has shattered her teeny-bop hair-dye (hair-dye, roots? HA) and teamed up with writers like Avril Lavigne and Max Martin. The title-track "Breakaway" was released in the summer of 2004, as the single to the Disney Movie "The Princess Diaries 2." The song has climbed the charts and spawns a `Cinderella' story of songs, much appropriate for the movie it was associated to. The song, which while still being on the pop side of music, contains a more edgy sound as well. Fans could tell that Kelly's music was changing for the better and couldn't wait for the November release of her sophomore effort.
The album opens with the title track, an inspiring song about leaving the life one would normally leave, and taking the road less-traveled. Directly after "Breakaway" a guitar riff starts the song entitled "Since U Been Gone." "SUBG" has been released as the second single from the album, and has already gotten great reviews. "SUBG" is even more edgy than "Breakaway," but perhaps listeners still won't have reached the intensity of Clarkson's metamorphosis. However if "SUBG" didn't satisfy your need for a harder sound, then the third track "Behind These Hazel Eyes" surely will let you know that she was made for this sound. "Because of You" is the fourth song on "Breakaway." Kelly described it as a song about getting hurt by someone close to you, whether it is physical or emotional. "Because Of..." is a much slower number, and her voice blends in with deep, melancholy vibe a listener would receive.
While, all 12 tracks on "Breakaway" are well written, produced, and performed, some stand out more than others. The sixth track "Addicted" is, up to this point, the most unique of the songs. It was produced by Ben Moody and David Hodges, formerly of the Inspirational-rock band Evanescence. The song is deep in meaning, hard in sound, and Kelly's voice once again shines through. The album reaches a much lighter note once the ninth song "You Found Me" starts playing. By the title, one can guess what it is about, and one can also not stop smiling after they hear it. The song is positive, quick and is the best song to show her voice. "Breakaway" also entails a piano version of "Beautiful Disaster" a song from Clarkson's first CD. Kelly performed the song on tour this summer, and the fans kept asking for it, so what better way to familiarize the audience with who she once was.
The aura of "Breakaway" is mixed. Light, dark, melancholy and inspirational, Kelly can do it all. She even introduced her writing abilities on half of the album's tracks. The album is full of to-be hits, and will not leave anyone longing for more. Kelly Clarkson proves once again that she deserved the title as The Original American Idol.

Free Music Review: Kelly is the real deal!
Hit: 5 Stars

The album is packed with songs by great producers, great songwriters and lead by Kelly's amazing voice. It feels like a young woman's diary, filled with pain, pleasure and touch of cynicism that feels just right. This album shows how versatile her voice is, and her complete control & wonderful range of her exquisite vocals. Glancing at the liner notes, we find that Clarkson is credited as either the main writer or as a smaller contributor on several tracks. Looking further, we find she provides all vocals (including all background vocals) throughout the entire disc. Amazing. Nope, no silly posturing, no gratuitous self-promotion, no flashy studio trickery here. Just great, great music from a great artist. This album deserves to become a classic.

'Breakaway', the first song, was written by Avril Lavigne (among others) and Kelly Clarkson does it perfect justice. It's a medium slow one with some fantastic vocals in the chorus and the last verse.

'Since U Been Gone' has an incredibly catchy bridge and chorus, and is a more up-beat contrast to the first song. This song will gets you up and movin' in your seats.

'Behind These Hazel Eyes' has some great guitar, and is similar in structure to 'Since U Been Gone'; a slightly quieter verse compared to a loud-ish chorus. Kelly also co-wrote this song. You'll find yourself singing after you listened to it. Just great

'Because of You' is probably the most powerful ballad on this album, and was again co-written by Clarkson herself. While the vocals are still excellent and she makes good use of her range, her voice is kept gentle to match the style of the song and changes accordingly with it; this song really reflects the immense talent she has.

'Gone' is an uptempo number, but it works perfectly! It's so catchy, very cool chorus & verses. One word: FUN!

'Addicted' is a mid-tempo/dark feel track but combines guitar and other instruments with it! The lyrics are well-written, and it's so haunting! This is definitely one of the best tracks of this album, and you will be `addicted' to it!

'Where Is Your Heart' is another ballad. Kelly really makes you feel emotions through the song very well.

'Walk Away' is quite a funky song, with a really good rhythm. It's hard to stop wiggling away to it in your chair while listening!

'You Found Me' is very easy to listen to, and the chorus is fast paced. The way she sings the verses is good and suits the melody perfectly.

'I Hate Myself For Losing You' is another fantastic song. It quakes with emotion. It soothes. It enchants. Kelly is a masterful & passionate storyteller.

'Hear Me' is another dark power ballad. It starts slowly but explodes at the chorus. The piano is brilliant and the guitar in the chorus is amazing. Another fabulous display of her lyrical ability and her amazing vocal!

`Beautiful Disaster (Live)', this live version, captures the quietness of the song perfectly and it's so beautiful. Kelly's vocal really soar in this song.

All in all, this album is brilliant; the vocals are amazing, and there is a good range of music style from the American Idol winner. Kelly also shows that her talent is in writing music as well; she has co-written a number of songs from the album, all of different varieties. The songs are well written and the vocals are phenomenal she has surpassed American Idol; she's a diva and a force to be reckoned with. Kelly is unstoppable.

Free Music Review: My Music Review.
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, I love all types of music, so I might be very easy going with my reviews. So it is kind of obvious that I really liked these songs on this album. But, if you are alike like me, then feel free to read my review. I always knew that a great cd has a lot of variety (of sounds) when it comes to songs. This album for example:

Since U Been Gone: Kelly Clarkson said that this song was the most pop on her record, but I think that it is a good tie between that and "Behind These Hazel Eyes". Anyway, back to this song. It has a very fast paced beat, very catchy. She started out like talking in the verses, then BOOM! The chorus is screaming out at you and forces you to listen. I think songs like that grab the attention of the listeners, and it definitely forces me to listen to the very end. And not only does she belts out a note that I don't think is accessed by the natural world on the part: "again and again and again and a-GAIN!" I've tried singing that high, and failed. So, that is something worth listening to.

Behind These Hazel Eyes: It is very similar to "Since U Been Gone." (haha, and I was totally getting into the variety part, well, just bear with me for a second) She is starting out small on the verses and gives it her all on the chorus. And she also gives another high note on "ANYMORE!" Sometimes I secretly envy her for going that high, but, hey, the showerhead is my best audience.

Breakaway: I believe this song was her first single. It is not that upbeat like "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes", but it is really easy to listen to (see, I'm getting to variety). It also has very positive lyrics. So, need positive reinforcements? Listen to this song and be happy.

Because Of You: This is a slow, soft, and sad song. She wrote the lyrics when she was sixteen. These are good lyrics, good and sad (especially the music video...go watch it), but you can always make it less sad by turning on this song, grabbing your special someone, tell them you love them and that you're both here today: "Because of You..." aww...

Walk Away: I personally think this is a mixture to pop and country. She sings it like a country song, but the instruments make it sound very pop. I like it. It is kind of like Nelly and Tim Mcgraw in "Over and Over." with their collaboration in genres. We need more mixes like that one, which is Kelly's song.

Gone: I really, really like song (just like ALLL the other ones...hehe) this has the coolest beat ever. I seriously don't know how to describe it. So, you just have to listen to it for yourself. But, the bridge is the coolest part! I believe that they use electric guitar in majority of the song, but at the BRIDGE, it is suddenly an acoustic guitar. I really like the transition from electric to acoustic (even if it is only for just a couple seconds.)

One thing about all these songs is that all these songs have great lyrics, that's VERY different from one another. I like that, I get tired of those songs that repeat ONE line, but just goes at different chords, notes, and pitches. eww...

Well, that is all I'm gonna give you because why should I tell you how every song it like when you can just get it for yourself and find out? Kelly Clarkson is a very talented person, and this album proves to all that she has broken out of her "idol" shell.

Hope my advice helped you in your decision.

Bye.
