Free Music Review: A very beautiful album Kelly Sweet's "We Are One"

I actually bought this album after a strong recommendation from a friend who had previously bought Kelly Sweet's "We Are One" EP. And I am delighted that I followed his advice.
Kelly Sweet's full length CD "We Are One" is filled with epic movements of beautiful melodies as well as lyrics that seem to touch the soul. She has an incredible voice that is like a melding of current pop artists such as Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan, and Josh Groban, so I would agree with other reviewer's comparisons and would further echo that Kelly Sweet's musical style is not limited by such comparisons to other artists.
In my opinion, Kelly Sweet delivers the vocal power and range of Celion Dion, the visual imagery through meaningful lyrics like Sarah McLachlan, and the gift of bringing multiple languages to pop culture through music like Josh Groban.
This album includes an amazing cover of Aerosmith's hit song "Dream On." Perhaps it can be characterized that the sound of this one has an almost Enya-esque quality to it, but Kelly Sweet delivers the same power as Aerosmith's original version using only her voice and the way she builds the song with the emotions she relays while singing. By the second chorus, you "feel" the same crescendo of electric guitar and drums as with Aerosmith, but only through this single, marvelous, whispery voice.
The bonus about this album to me is found within the many genres of music that it appears to contain. There is the Jazz influenced, but smooth listening sound of "Raincoat" as well as the pop influenced sound of "We Are One," which stands out in my mind as the perfect wedding song. And I am most captivated by Kelly's work with a children's choir in "Now We Are Free" which is an amazingly beautiful song that sounds almost like a prayer in another language.
I would recommend this album for its beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics, as well as recommend it for its meditative, easy-listening content. Kelly Sweet has a stunning voice and her incredible talent shines brightly in what is only her first CD which makes me look forward to her next album with great anticipation.
Kelly Sweet is a new artist find for me, but I am so glad I found her.
Free Music Review: Absolutely wonderful ~ a masterpiece!

This is a wonderful cd! I first heard Ms. Sweet with the rendition of "Dream On" recently on the radio and just HAD to find out what this mystical, haunting voice was was all about. Everything about her voice and this cd is truly amazing and unique! I happen to love Celtic music and she has just got it with that voice of hers. I've read the reviews about various artists that she is compared to and I didn't see Sarah McLaghlan or Candace Night (Ritchie Blackmore's wife ~ Deep Purple). "Blackmore's Night" or "Under a Violet Moon" are tagged for this cd. They, of course, have Ritchie with his phenomonal guitar and voice, but Ms. Night is most wonderful with her haunting, beautiful voice. If you are really a pop/jazz listener, these cds may not be for you. Take a listen before you buy. I also don't consider Ms. Sweet pop music; I guess I really don't hear it...but whatever you want to call it ~ consider it amazingly beautiful!Free Music Review: The Sweettest Voice

I bought this album on a whim after hearing "Raincoat" on the radio and falling in love with it. Sometimes it is worth buying a CD even when you do not know what the songs are going to be like just because the voice makes it worth it. With this album, however, I was NOT disappointed. Every song is fantastic and I absolutely LOVE Sweet's voice. Her songs range from classical to a sexy pop sound. The only thing that does not change is the beauty in her voice. Few people could pull such an album off- but she certainly does. "We Are One" is my current favorite, but I love her version of Aerosmith's "Dream On" also as well as "Crush". I downloaded this album prior to my departure to Iraq and it has been my favorite album to listen to. Kelly's voice is absolutely from the heavens -almost impossible to believe she was only 17 year's old when she cut the record. "We Are One," a simple but indescribably romantic song, could be the decade's best wedding song if it would ever get radio play. Although her English songs are great, her foreign language tunes are absolutely incredible. I know none of the languages and I listen to them over and over because of the sheer beauty of her voice. Don't pass on this album!! Kelly give us another one!!
