Everybody who loves rap music before it was disputedly renamed/dubbed "hip hop" and when it didn't even have a section in record stores and was shelved with R&B music knows that a good rap cd is not what it is supposed to be unless you can listen to it without words. Like Tiimbaland said, "Even if I just talked on this album, you would still buy it." Ken Starr doesn't even have to speak and the melodies and music would keep you fulfilled. All he needs to do now is collab with Consequence and you've got another Mos/Def Talib situation. (Talib is on this cd just so you know). As a previous Prince George's County resident, the county in MD is not known for its tight rap artist. Kenn, with two letter N's, changes all that. I haven't paid over $9 for a rap artist' cd since I purchased Lupe Fiasco's CD a year ago and even that was a lil' suspect. Starr Status will have you waiting for the mail man to hurry the hell up and deliver your CD! Don't trust me? Hurry to www.myspace.com/kennstarr and hear for yourself! I've been to a lot of "underground hip hop" shows tyring to showcase new artist and myspace sites looking for a rapper to appease my need for a Tribe Called Quest reminiscent artist. I can only hope T.I. and the rest of the current "radio riders" wear out their time and Kenn Starr opens the BET Awards at the top of the new decade! Peace and Enjoy!
