Free Music Review: A collector's item for Blues fans
Hit: 5 Stars

The gem in this package is the must watch DVD. Listening to the people who created the Blues genre, many of whom are now deceased, speaking from their own personal experiences provides a priceless blues history lesson. If you are unfamiliar with 'Blue Heaven Studios' this DVD provides a pretty good introduction to the world of audiophile recording studios. The last 3 tracks are filmed and recorded at Blue Heaven with truly great sonic results.

The other half of this package is the CD containing 15 tracks teaming Kenny with legendary blues artists from the Who's Who book of southern blues performers. No blues collection is complete without this CD/DVD combo.

Free Music Review: AMAZING cd...
Hit: 5 Stars

This is one of the best works of pure music I have bought in awhile. Not very often do you buy something where the artist really tried to make a statement with the music, but here, they do. For KWS and company to just go out, find the ROOTS of the music we listen to today, and make music on the spot with them is just amazing. Too bad they didnt bring more film to document even more than they already did. I could watch that footage for days. Everything here is beyond top notch. Very insightful, provides a glimpse of where the music came from and where it is going. If your a fan of ANY kind of blues, southern, or just guitar led music...you will love this.

Free Music Review: It's a must have
Hit: 5 Stars

Anyone who's a fan of the Blues usually has at least a passing interest in the history of the only "true" American roots music. Everyone who has viewed my DVD has bought their own copy....it's that good and that well done. Like several other reviewers attested to, this could have easily been marketed as a DVD with a bonus CD. Having seen more than a few of these performers live through the years it saddened me to find some had passed on between the taping and the release. This CD/DVD set is a great window into the past and present of the Blues, done with the respect and reverence it deserves. You'll find the money very well spent.

Free Music Review: blues lover near St Louis
Hit: 5 Stars

I found this CD/DVD very interesting. It's great that some of these great talented folks can be brought to the lime light by someone so young. These bluemen and many others that have passed on are the fondation for todays music.

Henry Townsend is a personal favorite of mine and I was happy that he was included in this project. Sorry to say that Henry to has passed. I only wish that they filmed & recorded Henry before he begain to decline.

I have personly seen some of these guy perform over the years. It is just great that more people (hopefuuly) will be exposed to ther music.

Free Music Review: Unbelievable, simply unbelievable
Hit: 5 Stars

The CD is awesome, however the DVD did nothing less than blow me away. It had me grinning like a schoolboy, and I loved every minute of it. Some may complain that it didn't have enough uninterrupted songs on the DVD, but that is what made it great. The treat of listening to the wisdom and insight of men (and woman) that have been through so much in their lives, is a true pleasure. This album and DVD are historical in their content, and you will simply feel "good" when you have come to the end of it. While I truly liked KWS's "The Place I'm In", I am extremely grateful that he has found his way back home.
