If you have any question regarding the blues history moreover who still holds the blues history, this CD/DVD will, hopefully, answer all your doubts. This is a very interesting tribute to those who gave us some of the best blues musics and musicians. If you love blues, you should buy it, if you want to know about it, you should also buy it, and if you don't know anything about, then again... buy it! Kenny presented us everything he consider influenced him to love blues. Congratulations Kenny, you did a great job for the music history!!
P.S. Too bad my plastic case arrived broken from Amazon... :(

I know it's a bit more cost-wise than a normal cd, but if you even remotely like the blues you really need to check this out. The music is incredible and the movie (unlike some dvd's attached to cd's) is fantastic. A great trip through history and interviews with some really talented bluesmen. Hopefully some of the proceeds of the disc go to these talented men because as you'll see many live in impoverished conditions even though their music has inspired many of todays very successful musicians. Since I bought this CD my husband and I have been listening to it daily.
It is absolutely fabulous. I cannot and will not ever get tired of listening to it. I agree with B.B.King's feelings and am so grateful that KWS and collaborators took the time to do this project with some of the best Blues players to have walked this earth. Although the Blues has been acknowledged more in recent years, I am hoping this endeavor will bring it to the forefront of the music industry and finally receive the recognition it deserves !

If you're a Kenny Wayne Shepherd fan you'll love this. If you're a blues fan you'll love this. If you're a fan of real music played with heart and soul by real musicians, you'll LOVE THIS. This is finally a blues documentary that nails it dead on. He introduces you not just to blues legends (BB King) but lesser knowns, who are just as talented and endearing, such as Etta Baker.
It's not just a documentary, it's history. Since it's recording SIX of the artists have died. Do yourself a favor and buy it today.

and if you really want to be wowed-- go see the concert--- just saw the first show in Shreveport, LA It is AWESOME-- Kenny has outdone himself on this one--- this cd/dvd set (you MUST OWN this set!!!!!) and tour could be a historical event-- seeing 93 year old Pinetop Perkins and 75 year old Hubert Sumlin on stage playing better than most 23 year olds was spine tingling!! the concert in Shreveport was 3 hours -- yes, 3 hours of blues with some of Kenny's classics including VooDoo Child thrown in for good measure
