Free Music Review: Dennis Ward is THE man...

I've had this and the second Khymera album(A New Promise) on my "wishlist" for awhile and just got around to picking them up... BIG mistake, waiting. I've said in other reviews that I might get anything with Dennis Ward's name associated with it, well The Greatest Wonder does nothing to change that thought. For those who don't know; Dennis is a bassist, singer, songwriter and producer with his band Pink Cream 69 and has been involved with many other projects including Khymera, Place Vendome, Sunstorm and House Of Lords. The Greatest Wonder is full of absolutely GREAT melodic rock/metal. It has great playing from the musicians; Daniele Liverani(keyboards), Tommy Ermolli(guitars), Dario Ciccioni(drums) and Ward on bass. The songs are full of melody and hooks and rock enough to satisfy fans of this music. I actually was somewhat surprised to hear Ward's vocals - the guy can really sing, he handles lead vocals very well. He reminds me a bit of Joe Lynn Turner; a little raspy/raw but with a good tone - very listenable. Song highlights include: Beautiful Life, Borderline, Since You Went Away, No Sacrifice, The Greatest Wonder and Fight For Yesterday. As with anything produced by Ward, the sound/mix is excellent.
This is simply a great melodic rock album; don't wait like I did - BUY IT.
