Free Music Notes for Rock n Roll JesusFree Music Review: New fan to Kid Rock Hit: 5 StarsIts rare that I love an album on the first listen, but this album is spectacular. Most surprising was the wit of both the lyrics and the riffs; it feels as if there are lots of winks and nods at inside jokes. Very clever; thoroughly entertaining, and just plain solid rock and roll.
Free Music Review: Great ROCK CD by Rock/Rapper Kid Rock - Interesting Album Title ! Hit: 4 StarsReally good rock album by sometimes Rock/Rapper Kid Rock. Good solid production work, great sound to the album, def. one to play LOUD the first go around. At least 4-5 should make their way to his LIVE shows for sure! Not sure about his choice of album title - ROCK & ROLL JESUS - but i'll leave that to him to explain, though i'm sure it wasn't put out to offend, for sure you know that some people will take it the wrong way. Blasphemy, they'll cry!! Get over it Mom/Dad, Grandma, grandpa. This isn't the 40's or 50's. This is Kid F----n' Rock ! Not Pat Boone or Bing Crosby...
Free Music Review: Excellant Hit: 5 StarsI have all Kid Rocks cd's.
I like them all.
They are all all different.
But no matter what style he does, rap, hip hop, country, southern rock,
rock n'roll. He is excellant.
A very talented man & I can't wait til he puts out another CD.
Free Music Review: Kid Rock is back and he is on the top of his game Hit: 5 StarsThe Good
Kid Rock kicks off things with a bang on the album's title track "Rock N Roll Jesus." The blend of guitars, horns, and spiritual choir let you know that Rock is on his perch to testify the gospel according to him. On the acoustic heavy track "Amen," Rock vents his inner frustration of the world, while at the same time delivering a funky blues sound. "All Summer Long" samples Van Morison's "Werewolves of London" and Lynryd Skynryd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and uses them to lament about his youth.
"Sugar" is classic Kid Rock from the very beginning. It's nice to hear that Rock can mature his sound, yet still remember what made him. "When You Love Someone" is going to be the next big radio ballad (should they chose to release it as a single). Another ballad, "Blue Jeans and a Rosary," tells the tale of a woman that changed Rock's life.
The Bad
While I loved the riffage on "So Hott," the song itself is not up to par. "Rock N Roll Jesus" should have been the lead single, not this one. Rock is trying a little too hard with the ballads. One or two is fine, but three is pushing it.
The Verdict
Kid Rock is back and he is on the top of his game. Rock ventures out into new waters and makes it work. To remain loyal to his longtime fans, he lays down some classic style jams as well. I have seen the light! I am a believer! Harkin to the words and music of Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus!
Free Music Review: The Best Rock Album in 20+ years Hit: 5 StarsEverything from Lynyrd Skynryd to AC/DC, Eric Clapton to Bruce Springsteen,
Grandmaster Flash to 50 Cent, you have it here!
The best album so far from an artist that has been so underated for his great musical talent.
For anyone that has been put back because of preconceived notions, now is the time to give Kid Rock a fresh look.
Rock 'N' Roll Jesus is a listening pleasure for anyone that loves great music.
With lyrics from the heart, music that covers everything that rock has been about from the beginning, and of
course everything you would expect from a street kid from the original Rock City!
