Free Music Review: Great, Great, Great Record

This is a great record. Now, I can see from looking at the reviews here that there are two camps here, one that is comparing this album to the other 3 Kings albums and 1 that is taking this album for what it is and comparing to what is out there now and realizing that they are maturing as a band. No this album isn't as wild, loud or crazy as the previous three. But just as No Code was the essential coming of age maturing record in Pearl Jam's career and one that was very highly debated upon its release, so is "Only By The Night" in Kings of Leon's career. This album is great, and its greatness is only multiplied when you judge this album not by previous KOL recordings but judge on what is coming out now a days. The music scene is pretty much terrible right now and Kings of Leon give us true music lovers a reason to visit the record store.Free Music Review: Excellent

Many bands that stick around for more than 1 or 2 albums seem (IMHO) to follow a trend with two identifiable characteristics: (1) change, and (2) increasing commercial appeal. I think the complaints that "these guys aren't the Kings of Leon they used to be" are tedious and based on a ridiculous expectation. It's going to happen (if the band is any good and not Pearl Jam), so get over it. I don't really care whether 10 or 1,000,000 other people want to listen to the album, or even whether a band was explicit in attempting to target a larger audience. The proper questions, it seems to me, are: Is is it good? Do I like listening to it? Is it going to stay in my car stereo for more than a few days? My answers to the first two are: Yes! and Yes! I can't answer the third yet, but if their last album is any indication... probably so.Free Music Review: Absolutely Fantastic!!!!

I'm deeply hurt that some people are giving this album poor reviews. This is by far the the best album I've listened to in the past few years. This is the 1st KOL CD I have purchased after seeing them Live a few times. I can't imagine that their other CD's could possibly be better than this one but I am sure as @#$% going to find out! I have referred several friends to this album and have heard nothing but extremely positive comments. They may have changed their style according to some long time fan reviewers but this album falls nothing short of spactacular!! I was listening to 'The Black Keyes' Catch and release, which is also a great album, almost every song, when I got my hands on this CD which I could tell was better after one listen. (No offense to Black Keyes but this album rocks). Trust me, just buy it.Free Music Review: Best rock album in years

I am not sure how long its been since I have ever purchased a CD and listened to the entire thing without skipping a single. This is by far, the best album I have enjoyed lately.
It easily beats Coldplay's recent release (& I like that one by the way). KoL have produced a record that exceeds by far their other releases and should be considered the best album of the year (a tie with Fleet Foxes). Its not only the usual popular songs on the CD, but its the entire album. Sometimes it feels to me as one long single (excluding, "Cold Desert"). The lead's vocals are dominant and expressive in "CRAWL", "Use Somebody" & "Revelry".
My only concern is that, now KoL are going to be considered everybody's favorite rather than being in a special niche.

after i ordered this cd..i ordered the entire cd..kings of knight..by king leon ...when kings of the knight cd came..i listened..and listened..and listened..love that cd..then this single came in a later and i wasnt that interested in listening to the single...and i never listened to it until just today..and i have to tell you this single w/only 2 songs..is just about the best..thank you for making it possible for me to hear such fablous music...
i was introduced by kings of leon..by a local radio station here in jacksonville..after i heard it the first time...i had to buy it..,...then come to find out my oldest daughter and my son in law love them too...that doesnt happen very often either ...always/pegsmouse1
