I can't explain it, Kirk Franklin continues to produce quality music that expresses what so many of us are feeling in a contemporary style. Allow me this moment to jump on the band wagon and say I BELIEVE this is his best project to date. As I listen to "Help Me Believe" I know that the LORD loves us and continues to watch over us and bless us.
The important thing about this album is that it's not filled with fluff. A lot of artist, secular and gospel, have a tendency to put one or two good songs on an album and feel the rest of it with FLUFF!!!! There is none of that on this album, you can let the whole thing play and not skip ahead or back. You want to hear the whole cd. As "JESUS" plays in the background I think to myself I can't thank the LORD enough for all he's done. "It Would Take All Day" to thank the LORD for providing a stimulating avenue to enjoy and share the praise we feel for JESUS's sacrifice. Continue on my brother, for you are a weapon for the LORD to help the young people see that the LORD does care. And not just for the young, the old as well, because sometimes we as a people forget the price that JESUS paid.

Free Music Review: The Best One Yet!!!

Why is Kirk Franklin my favorite Gospel artist? I love his energy, his humor, his frankness (I'm sure he has struck a nerve on occasion, because there is always someone who can't handle the truth, but hopefully they won't resist a change for the better for too long), and I really enjoy watching him dance. His lyrics can be comforting, tear jerking and uplifting. No matter the song, Kirk always sends a message that will motivate the listener to think about his or her own life, and assures that person of God's love and mercy.
When I purchase a CD by Kirk Franklin I am never left disappointed. I could play this one all day long and never grow tired of it.
The songs I like best are:
Declaration (This Is It!) - Encouraging and Uplifting.
Jesus - The One who loves me more than anybody else ever could. It never hurts to be reminded of that fact.
I Am God featuring tobyMac - It's hard to do it God's way a lot of the time, but my heavenly Father does know best.
A Whole Nation featuring Donavon Owens (one truly anointed young man!) - All I can say about this one is, "Lord, have mercy on all of the absentee fathers."
The Last Jesus - "Amen!"
I have every one of Kirk's CD's, and this is the best one yet!
Free Music Review: No Superlatives Needed

The thing about Kirk Franklin music is that it is not music.
It is a meditative experience.
If you are looking for a way to pass the time and tap your foot a little it will happen here however, there is a deeper experience awaiting those who wish to go to that quite place.
Engaging your heart muscles here will be a rewarded effort and perhaps you will find that refreshment your soul is looking for.
Just so we are clear I am not saying that this album rises to the level of cannon or that in anyway Kirk is anything other than what he says of himself a "Jesus Freak".
I am saying that Kirk again has agonizes over the questions we are all asking: God What do you think of me? The coolest thing is he waits for the answer and puts it to music, sweet, expressive, soulful music.
I so appreciate the heart and spirit of all Kirk's music and identify with the struggles, triumphs, hurts, sorrows, and most of all the hope I receive knowing God sees and hears me.
Thanks Kirk I can't wait to see you live as you minister to the brokenhearted and allow Jesus to use you to help bind up our hearts.

Free Music Review: If I Keep Fighting...."I Like Me" and My Chances..

As with every album by Kirk Franklin, it takes a few listen-throughs to really get down. Personally, the album tops "Hero", approaching "Ministry of...". As a 19 y/o junior in college that is in the midst of the fight of my life, Kirk's giving me hope with this album. Listening to it before its release, I called it interesting; definitely ambitious. But you really have to submit yourself to the ministry in each song, and not become preoccupied in "production" or a track's "potential as a single". Let me break it down: FED UP? Declaration: This is It! FEELING FAITH SLIPPING AWAY? Help Me Believe, Hide Me, How it Used to Be. NEED A REMINDER? He Will Supply, I Am God, Still (in Control). FEEL BETTER? Jesus, Still in Love, I Like Me. YOU READY TO FIGHT? A Whole Nation, The Last Jesus.
Why the saints hate on Kirk so much, I dunno...it makes no sense really. Maybe it's the shirtless album cover..some cry vanity, I say impressive. Got me wanting to hit the weights ;-) But anyways, all in all, this album has helped to allow tears to fall, only to dry them away later. Thanks Kirk for telling me that if I keep fighting, I LIKE ME and my chances..$tay ble$$eD!
Free Music Review: I Will Love KirK for LIFE - He is a Gift from GOD

First let me start off by saying Kirk Franklin holds a special place in my heart. I was saved at a Kirk Franklin workshop at the age of 15. He explained to me what salvation meant and how we become saved. This was soon after his very first album was released, so I'm trying to send this review without being sentimental.
Kirk Franklin is an absolute lyrical genius, this ablum will certainly minister to you if you are one of the many who are in "The Fight of Your Life". The words hit home, the beats make you move and the message is one that will stick with you even after you turn the CD player off. That's my kind of music. The message is universal and he is still saying "JESUS" !! The is a well-rounded album, there is even a song for the ones who love rock and roll.. Kirk never ceases to amaze me. I'll keep buying 'em as long as he keeps producing 'em.
A great investment to go along with all the other tools to help me through this fight called Life!
