Free Music Review: Incredible!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love Kirk Franklin. I have every one of his cd's... but this cd, by far, is one of his best in my humble opinion. I enjoyed the entire cd. The music, the lyrics and the message. This is another cd which I wish would be played in mainstream music, and not just in Christian circles. The lyrics speak volumes that anyone could relate to and be inspired by. God bless Kirk Franklin and may he continue to produce music to the glory of God and the edification of others. I highly recommend this cd!

Hit: 4 Stars

Kirk Franklin has done it again!! Created a CD that inspires you to keep aiming for the stars. You can relate to the songs and everyone can really feel the experience. Kirk Franklin is an inspiration to all.

Free Music Review: GOD continues to bless!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't explain it, Kirk Franklin continues to produce quality music that expresses what so many of us are feeling in a contemporary style. Allow me this moment to jump on the band wagon and say I BELIEVE this is his best project to date. As I listen to "Help Me Believe" I know that the LORD loves us and continues to watch over us and bless us.
The important thing about this album is that it's not filled with fluff. A lot of artist, secular and gospel, have a tendency to put one or two good songs on an album and feel the rest of it with FLUFF!!!! There is none of that on this album, you can let the whole thing play and not skip ahead or back. You want to hear the whole cd. As "JESUS" plays in the background I think to myself I can't thank the LORD enough for all he's done. "It Would Take All Day" to thank the LORD for providing a stimulating avenue to enjoy and share the praise we feel for JESUS's sacrifice. Continue on my brother, for you are a weapon for the LORD to help the young people see that the LORD does care. And not just for the young, the old as well, because sometimes we as a people forget the price that JESUS paid.

Holla If Ya Hear Me
GOD BLESS

Free Music Review: Kirk Franklin: The Go-To Artist when life is Hard
Hit: 4 Stars

I have never been the biggest Kirk Franklin fan. In fact the last CD I purchased of his was The Nu Nation Project, and even that belongs to the wife. So why buy this release. Well I was intrigued by the cover photo of this CD, and the fact that Kirk has had addiction problems made me curious. So what do you get on this CD? Well I think that Kirks' strength on the CDs that I have, including this one, are the quality of his mid, to slow tempo songs. Particularly when they address the struggles that the Christian walk can bring. Songs such as `Still (In Control), 'He Will Supply' & 'It Would Take All Day'. 'Help Me Believe', 'Hide Me' and 'Chains' are encouraging, uplifting anthems that you find yourself singing in the shower, or at your desk. These are Kirk's bread & butter, which he does extremely well, and are a strong suite of this CD. Kirk also takes a departure from his usual offerings with 'I Am God', and 'I like me'. And for me they both work. The former is a Rock/alternative, which features Toby Mac ( formerly of DC Talk) with the added benefit of strings and a Choir, and string section, which sounds like a traditional worship song, given a new twist. The latter features 'Da T.R.U.T.H, of Cross Movement Records, with a Funky clapped beat. I'm also really feeling 'Still in Love ' which is a bright & breezy Roller-skating jam that is brilliant.
Where I think this CD falls down is in the more up-tempo songs. They aren't awful, but they don't really stand out, particularly against the quality of the slower, mid tempo, efforts. 'Little Boy' is too predictable, and Kirks' effort to sing/rap doesn't work. The song only picks up when the hook/chorus kicks in with other/better vocalists. 'Declaration (This Is It)' which has a great video to boot, also falls flat. 'A Whole Nation' while a worthy song that deals with an important issue (Father, and the lack of their involvement in a child life) would have worked better without, Kirks chatter. These minor issues do not distract from a good CD that, for me, due mainly to the quality of the slower, mid tempo songs, is a four Star release.

Free Music Review: If I Keep Fighting...."I Like Me" and My Chances..
Hit: 5 Stars

As with every album by Kirk Franklin, it takes a few listen-throughs to really get down. Personally, the album tops "Hero", approaching "Ministry of...". As a 19 y/o junior in college that is in the midst of the fight of my life, Kirk's giving me hope with this album. Listening to it before its release, I called it interesting; definitely ambitious. But you really have to submit yourself to the ministry in each song, and not become preoccupied in "production" or a track's "potential as a single". Let me break it down: FED UP? Declaration: This is It! FEELING FAITH SLIPPING AWAY? Help Me Believe, Hide Me, How it Used to Be. NEED A REMINDER? He Will Supply, I Am God, Still (in Control). FEEL BETTER? Jesus, Still in Love, I Like Me. YOU READY TO FIGHT? A Whole Nation, The Last Jesus.

Why the saints hate on Kirk so much, I dunno...it makes no sense really. Maybe it's the shirtless album cover..some cry vanity, I say impressive. Got me wanting to hit the weights ;-) But anyways, all in all, this album has helped to allow tears to fall, only to dry them away later. Thanks Kirk for telling me that if I keep fighting, I LIKE ME and my chances..$tay ble$$eD!
