Free Music Review: Underrated by true Korn fans
Hit: 5 Stars

While a lot of rap rock fans seem to be in love with this album, true Korn fans tend to like this album less because of its mass appeal. I think this happens because once again the band helped expand the rap rock genre; much like the self titled help influence nu metal bands. "Got The Life" at first wasn't one of their better tracks, but you soon realize this song was made to be played live because it is phenominal. The first track that really captures me is "Dead Bodies Everywhere" easily one of Korn's better tracks and now a concert regular. "Children of the Korn" is helped by Ice Cube and the track is really good because it features a rapper but doesn't lose any of Korn's aggression. Jonathan's most disturbed lyrics probably come from the song "Pretty" which was about Jonathan's job as a morgue assistant. If only "I Can Remember" replaced "All In The Family" then this album would be listenable all the way through. If your wanting to know where to hear this it is on one of Korn's Got The Life import singles. "Justin" is about a dying Korn fan that insisted he see Korn before he passed away, and while I think musically it is a great track Jon's high pitched vocals get annoying. "My Gift To You" is the perfect way to finish out the album with Jon's sick and disturbing lyrics to his ex-wife which at the time was his wife. By the way, if you hold on Cheech and Korn do a great cover of "Earache My Eye".

Free Music Review: Korn will be remembered for this album....
Hit: 5 Stars

...and for good reason. Korn stays heavy as in the first two albums, yet here takes the experimental route with the funk and rap. Adding Ice Cube and Fred Durst adds to the diversity this album brings and the result is a classic of an album. Follow The Leader was the first Korn album I ever owned or heard and I have always been amazed at Korn's style. The amazing guitar riffs, drumwork and of course Jon Davis' vocals set Korn apart from the nu-metal crowd. Korn is much more than just a nu-metal band, they truly care about the music and the fans and that is what maks them so good. I own all of Korn's albums, and I would say this is my favorite of them all. Among my favorite cuts are Freak on a Leash (greatest Korn song/video ever), Dead Bodies Everywhere, Reclaim My Place and Seed. But the album as a whole flows well and there isn't a boring or thoughtless song to be found. This is one of those albums you can leave on the whole way through without skipping any tracks. I know that a lot of people will not agree that this is Korn's best album, and though it is my favorite I don't necessarily think it is their best work. Every Korn album has something unique to bring and each is equally brilliant in my opinion. Follow The Leader is definately a great album of its time and one of my favorites of anything of anytime. It stays dark and heavy throughout, and what more could you ask for from Korn?

Free Music Review: ANOTHER 90's CLASSIC!
Hit: 5 Stars

This was the first CD I bought from KoRn a few weeks after it was released. Words cannot describe how truly amazing this album is. This is a must for everyone to own whether you are a KoRn fan or not. KoRn hit big making platinum with this CD and listening to it will sure explain why! It's remarkable. The band has matured since their self-titled debut album back in 1994. KoRn's experimental mixture from different genres of music are absolutely stunning. Besides sticking to Heavy Metal, KoRn play around in Hip-hop, funk, rap, and Disco music. Particularly in songs such as "Got the Life", "Children of the KoRn" with Icq Cube, and "All in the Family" with Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst. In my opinion, none of the tracks were boring. Head and Munky's guitar riffs; David and Fieldy's heavy drum, bass hits; and Jon's stunning vocals all manage to keep you far far away from the stop button on the stereo. The dark, eerie stories about Jon's life in each song leave a big impact at the end for everyone. In fact, they are so intense that "All in the Family" helps give out some comical-relief that can give out a few good laughs. If you are unfamiliar with KoRn or do not own any pf their CDs, then I recommend buying this CD first. You'll be as stunned as I was! It's brilliant! Go stick into the shopping cart!

Free Music Review: Let's try something..
Hit: 5 Stars

Let's forget for a second that you saw them a million times on MTV. Forget that they "represent the birth of nu metal" and, with it, all that's wrong with society in this day and time. Forget how it's apparently cool to hate on popular bands that make it big time.
The men of the KoRn have an ability to create a wall of sound kind of effect. 7-string Ibanez guitars, and a loud bass that makes for a secondary drum kit sometimes. And who could forget the uber catchy, constantly changing, tribal drumming by David.
Try to *consciously* listen to any song in this album, and pay attention to what they do in the background. The small sounds, the subtle strumming here, a loud bass line there.. the constant change in rhythm. The breakdowns (yes, breakdowns, emo idiots).
KoRn are as experimental and creative as they get.
They may not be the most talented band in the universe, but they obviously put effort into not sounding repetitive, or boring the listener, and I appreciate that.
Every song in the album is worth a listen, but highlights include "Freak on a leash" (duh), "Seed", "Got the life", and the awesome "Reclaim my place".

Oh, and another thing. Stop comparing them to Megadeth, or Metallica, or any other metal band of their time. They've never tried to sound like them, and that's quite obvious.

Free Music Review: "Welcome to Gen. Z"
Hit: 5 Stars

"Generation X" is over. Welcome to the new generation. A generation where bad things are happening, and we are forced to deal with it. The blame is no longer on us. We will not accept it! We will laugh at it! WE WILL PREVAIL!!!

The leaders of this musical generation....KOrN! They have outdone my expectations. I mean I loved both of the previous two albums, but this one is perfect. With songs like "Children of the Korn" the band has optimized the outlook on life. "We ain't taking no more!" is exactly what our new motto should be. "Dead Bodies Everywhere" looks into the pain of disappointing those who care. "Pretty" looks into the, not too uncommon, point of child abuse. But here is the beauty of Korn, then they go into the hilarious "All in the Family." It shows that you can still be happy with pain. You can thrive even though it hurts. You can also get twisted, as songs like "My Gift to You" certainly do. Its all in good fun, but it is all horrifingly real. Well, horrifing if you are of the older generation. Normal if you are one of "us." There is no other band that I can say truly does this then Korn.

Bottom line: If you love Korn, buy it!! If you like to have fun inspite of the horrors of life, buy it!!!
