Free Music Review: Focus on the MUSIC, not "who heard 'em first", kiddies......

NO. Get real.

Take me, for instance. My little brother told me they were good back in the day, and I saw them on MTV a few times (back when I was rich and had cable TV), and I heard a few songs, but was more into techno and stuff. Then I heard "FREAK ON A LEASH" on a new radio station in my town (May of 1999), and was thinkin', "Damn, that sounds good."

So, I bought the single, cuz I'm WAY into remixes, so lemme break it down for all you wannabe "purists", because Korn loves ALL of their fans (or at least anyone with some CD money in their pocket), not just the rude jerks who claim to have been "down since day ONE."

1. Album version --- self explanatory.

2. Dante Ross mix --- well...it's...uhh...different, to say the least. It's almost a little TOO dark and depressing for me.

3. Freakin' Bitch mix --- this one's by Butch Vig, and if you ever heard his remix of House of Pain's "Shamrocks 'n Shenanigans" then you KNOW this one is awesome, too.

4. Josh A's Beast On A Leash mix --- sounds basically just like the album version, but has a LOT more bass. Good for purists who like to "boom" in their "G"-rides.

5. Lethal Freak mix --- obviously, this one was done by DJ Lethal from Limp Bizkit....and lemme tell ya, it's got such a different yet awesome and fresh sound from the original. The album version actually gets boring after a while, but this mix pumps new life into it (and you can disco-dance your ass off to this one!)

.....and that's all I got to say, kids, except that I wish y'all would use this review space to talk about THE MUSIC, not "how cool you THINK you are."
