Free Music Review: Korn has finally come back
Hit: 5 Stars

When I first heard that Korn was coming out with a new album I was very skeptical and almost didn't really care. I've been very amazed by Korn since "Blind" first hit the airwaves. The same goes with "Life is Peachy" and "Follow the Leader". However, with "Issues" I was a little disapointed and "Untouchables" I was even more disapointed. For whatever reason it may be though, I am always drawn back to these guys and continue to by their albums. I must say, I wasn't sure what the new album was going to sound like, especially when I saw that they did a song with rapper Nas, but I can honestly tell you this new material is excellent. I takes fans back to when they were a hardcore metal band, and it seems to get away from the whole mainstream nu-metal scene, which their previous two albums seem to have been going. Musically and vocally, this is one of the bands heavier and darker albums. Jonathan sings with more of a death metal type of voice and the band sounds tighter than ever. What I love about this album is that it is just straight hardcore metal and it is true to their original sound. This is one album I can put on and listen to every song straight through every time. Even the song they did with Nas is good, and it doesn't sound like rap at all. Other than the fact that Nas is singing in it, you would still know that it is Korn since it is just as hard and heavy, or even more, as the other songs (and this is coming from a person who hates rap). I am glad they put out an album like this because their last one didn't even sound like Korn and both "Untouchables" and "Issues" sounded rushed. However, with "Take a Look in the Mirror", they put 150% on this album, and it is definitely worth buying. Every song is heavy as hell. Korn has finally returned to deliver something to the true fans.

Free Music Review: From a HUGE KoRn freak
Hit: 5 Stars

KoRn has been a band that has done so well in the past decade, with 4 awsome records and one speed bump, this is their Prime. This CD features some amazeing songs like: Everything Ive Known or Here it Comes Again. They definetly went back to their old roots...but something this great always has somethings wrong with it. In the past KoRn had been this semi Metal-Rap band, only because they had these really cool, creepy, 80's horror like "hip-hop" beats. It was this sound and the heavy, "moshable" , catchy guitar riffs that got me into absoluly loveing KoRn. They did this, and did it well, up till "Untouchables" where they kinda lost grip of it. This CD, on the other hand, gathers back all the right ingrediance in makeing one hell of an album. This album is more Metal and less Nu-Metal. Anouthe iffyr thing was Jon Davises voice. It kinda gets messed up on this album. He is an excellent singer (like hell i could screame like that the way he does live....damn), but he looses his emotion, only a little. Way back when, you could tell he was pissed off on his records because he would sing through his teeth, and really, REALLY screame, unforgivingly. It maybe just my opinion, but on this record his screameing sounds fake, and distorted, and theres less then id hoped.

The songs that really stand out are....well, every song except "Deep Inside" and "When Will this End". All the other songs are pure amazement!

Btw, stop complaining about "Play Me". Its an awsome song, and if you could finda anouther rapper that can flow like Nas does on this record, id like to hear it!

All and all, awsome record, buy it if you havent already! I am hopefull that their next record will fully reach my strict requirements.

a little off-subject but: I WANT RAGE BACK! (I cant stand Audioslave!)

Free Music Review: Not As Good As 'Untouchables'
Hit: 5 Stars

Take A Look In The Mirror is Korn's second best album (Untouchalbes is by far the best), and, once again, Korn has a new sound. Jonathan Davis's singing in some of the songs aren't as good as they could be. I believe (and hope) that this will be Korn's final album. After a while, the music gets old, and they're slowly going down-hill. Better to stop when your on top. Here's what I thought of the songs:

1. Right Now: Davis's vocals sound off in this song. Other than that, it's a good
song and okay intro. 4/5
2. Break Some Off: Loud, but that's about it. 3/5
3. Counting On Me: One of the best songs on the album. The chorus is
exellent. 5/5
4. Here It Comes Again: Not great, but not bad either. 3/5
5. Deep Inside: Pretty good song with a good chorus. 4/5
6. Did My Time: Should've been the intro to the album. If you liked "Here To
Stay", you'll love this. 5/5.
7. Everything I've Known: Another great song. 5/5.
8. Play Me (featuring Nas): Not as good as "Children Of The Korn", but a worthy
effort. 3/5.
9. Alive:A good song. Something you can bang your head to. 4/5.
10. Let's Do This Now: I almost always skip this song. 2/5.
11. I'm Done: The best song on the album. Sounds allot like "One More Time",
exept there's nothing missing on this song. 5/5
12. Ya'll Want A Single: I can't believe that this song will be they're second
single. This song sucks. 1/5.
13. When Will This End: Almost always fast-foreward to the hidden track. 3/5.
14. One: Ahh. The hidden track. A pretty good song, great outro. 4/5

Free Music Review: Wayyyy better then Untouchables and Issues
Hit: 5 Stars

I burned this cd before it came out only because i knew that i would just end up buying it neway, and i couldnt resist. I was actually surprised and pleased with the new direction that they have taken their music in. I think that Unotuchables had a weird vibe to it and it was not at all up to par with their musical abilities.
1. Right Now- 8.5/10- this song is pretty good but the anger sounds kinda played out...cool ending though
2. Break some off - 9/10 - I didnt really like this song at first but after giving it a chance and listening to bridge, it hooked me. Nice vocals from Jon
3. Counting On Me- 6/10 - I dont know about this one...Issues leftover...usually skip it
4. Here It Comes Again -9/10- Nice groove to this song, good chorus part- mix of metal and melody
5. Deep Inside - 8.5/10- This song is pretty good, awesome bridge vocals, Untouchables leftover
6. Did My Time - 9/10- The intro is badass and so are the bridge vocals, Untouchables leftover
7. Everything Ive Known - 7/10- Unimpressive, not bad though
8. Play Me- 10/10 - This track is one of my favorites, not really a hip hop song at all, good job
9. Alive - 9/10- The first and one of the best Korn songs ever written, good melody, heavy verses
10. Lets Do This Now - 8/10- This song had the potential to be better with maybe a better vocal track or something, its a good song, but could have been recorded better.
11. I'm Done - 10/10 - Another of my favorites, sweet chorus and intro
12. Ya'll Want A Single - 10/10- Probably my favorite track, the accent is hilarous and the breakdown is reminiscent of Peachy... niiiiice track
13. When Will This End - 8.5/10 - The bass sounds percussive in this track and it makes it a stand out...melody is a plus

Free Music Review: bitchin!
Hit: 5 Stars

this is one of korns best, very heavy and kick ass

1. Right Now - Dirty Version- the first single, a very heavy song about kicking someones ass, the constant swearing is annoying but the song is pimp 5/5

2. Break Some Off- this is a short song where the verses are very mellow but the chorus is heavy screaming 5/5

3. Counting On Me- one of my favorites, very catchy tune 5/5

4. Here It Comes Again- another short song where it goes from mellow to thrashing, jons singing on this song is really good 5/5

5. Deep Inside- the chorus is cachy as hell, but the verses sound too mainstream 4.5/5

6. Did My Time- the first single that was released a few months before the album came out, it was used in that Tomb Raider 2 movie, awsome song 5/5

7. Everything I've Known- good song 5/5

8. Play Me (featuring Nas)- i liked ice cube better, but nas is pretty good, jon is barely on this track though 5/5

9. Alive- this is a remake of on of their demos from like 92-93. it was an awsome song then and its an awsome song now, another one of my favorites

10. Let's Do This Now- another song about kicking somebodys ass, lots of energy 4.5/5

11. I'm Done- my favorite 5/5

12. Ya'll Want A Single- the third single, an awsome song with a great video 5/5

13. When Will This End- a great outro, very melodic, it when its finished theres about 6 minuts of silence, then, about 10 minutes in, one starts

14. One- it was stupid putting this on the album when they already had it on the "Did My Time" single, but its a very good song (better than metallicas version). i was hoping for a studio version 5/5
