Free Music Notes for Take a Look in the Mirror (Bonus Dvd) (Dig)Free Music Review: KICK AZZ Hit: 5 Stars
Korn really brings their best to the table with their new album and is a step up from their last release "Untouchables". Breakdown: track 1)Their second radio hit off the cd a good song track 2)one of my favorite tracks on the CD has a softer verse and then breaks into a hardcore chorus and an ilicit break I am glad Jonathan has gotten his screaming abilities back. Track 3) A great guitar riff and melodic verse awesome chorus Track 4) One of their slower songs on the CD but still amazing I love it Track 5) Awesome melodic 3\4 chorus followed by a slow break Track 6)Their first radio hit for the "Tomb Raider" movie a great guitar driven song track 7)has a two-faced chorus very kick A$$ track 8)great music but Im not really liking that the rapper Nas is singing in it track 9)YES!!! this song is hardcore and awesome great bassage track 10)THE BAGPIPES HAVE RETURNED! Another awesome hardcore song track 11) has a very mysterious feel with great emotion 12)Y'all want a single say f#@* that! is the general feel of this song a great song funny yet serious song 13) this song just makes my head bob I love the feel of the song and is a great way to finish off the cd (if you keep listening there is a hidden version of Korn playing Metallica's "one" live) All in all every song is good GO GET IT!!
Free Music Review: Korn's Return to Form!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is Korn's most underrated album. The real reason it didn't do better is that many Korn fans had fallen off by then. Untouchables was not an album many could listen to straight through.
With Take A Look In The Mirror, the boys tried to tap into what made them big early on...and they greatly succeed. This album is dark and full of energy. Even the packaging is reminiscent of the early days.
"Right Now" is a perfect lead-off track. It's full of energy and reminds me of "good god". "Break Some Off" is the same way.
"Counting on Me" slows things down a bit, but is such a great song. Nice and dark. Even the collab with Nas is tight. Many diss because they don't like rap, but "Play Me" is a hard track. The chorus says it all.
"Alive" is from their early days, and is what "Need To" was supposed to be on their first album. Probably my favorite song on here.
"Y'all want a single" is a great diss to the suits who wanted Korn to write a single. Do yourself a favor and check out the video.
"When Will this end" is a great close to a great album. I only wish they would have kept their signature sound. They went pretty soft on See You on the Other Side. This is the only "must buy" from Korn after Issues.
Free Music Review: best cd of the year! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this album the day it came out. This album in my opinion is the best album of the year. My favorite songs are: every f*ckin song on this cd! It comes with a limited addition dvd(which is funny as hell). It has on it the korn kut up(a clip of every single video the band has done). Next is the right now "mirror-mix video" not something you want the little ones to be watching. F*ckin freaky. The untouchables is the last thing on the dvd. It is hillarious!!!!! After the preformance. On the cd there is also a bonus track which is korn playing their version of "ONE" by metallica, which they preformed at this years mtv icon metallica thing. It was the only preformance besides metallica that was worth watching. Anyways this album dose have a parental advisory because Jonathon Davis(vocals) likes to say lots of dirty naughty words, but it still is an excellent cd. Parents I suggest that you purchase this album for either yourself, your son or your daughter because it is worth your money and it is an excellent album. It also makes a great socking stuffer ;) i hope that you purchase this album. I also hope you enjoy it! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Free Music Review: Heavy and More Hit: 5 Stars
....Knowing that Korn wrote the bulk of these songs in a very short period of time and that the main theme of this album was to go back to their heavy roots, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but a good solid album that I could head bang to....After listening to this record I was amazed at how brutal it was at times and how subtle and surreal it could be as well. Overall the album is Korn at what it does best and exceeded some of my expectations.... not as experimental as the last three albums but worth the listen..I think Korn has always created songs that hit you with a brutal chorus and then were quickly cut into melodic verses that were at times haunting, schizophrenic, subtle and surreal...This album emphasizes this idea in greater leaps then ever like in songs such as Break Some Off and I'm Done ....Ya'll want a Single is great in its sarcastic dramatic humor infused throughout the entire song....The remake of Alive is more demonic then ever and Lets Do This Now is probably one of the heaviest in your face songs they have ever done....Overall this album is a really good listen that should please old and new fans....and even gain new fans!!!
Free Music Review: Ya'll want a new KoRn Album? Hit: 5 Stars
In England this album was released on 24th November, The very same day at 9 in the morning I was standing outside my local record shop waiting to be ket in to buy it. I'm a humungous KoRn fan and had been looking foward to its release for months. Immediatly after buying it I stuck it in my diskman and listened to it for hours on end. Its a somewhat return to thier roots for KoRn. If you have been a fan of the band long enough to remember their debut self titled album "KoRn" the sound of this album is familiar.. but not repetitive. Many people may be turned off buying this album 'cos "Untouchables" did so badly, mostly due to leaks on the internet. The die-hard KoRn fans wont think twice about buying it, they'll get it the first chance they get and would sell thier soul for it, and they wouldnt be dissappointed! The album includes the singles "Did My Time" and "Right Now" as well as a new version of "Alive" an old demo that was never released and a live cover of Metallica's "One" as well as several over loud aggressive head thumpin' tracks KoRn have returned, buy it!
