As a former brass player I don't know how I missed the music of Kurt Atterberg in my ca. 50 years of listening to music. I bought the symphonies set based on the reviews on Amazon and don't regret it. This is incredible music and the performances are excellent. I would agree with the other reviewers who said that this is their best complete symphonies purchase ever. It is difficult to pin down influences because this is very distinctive music. Powerful!
