Free Music Review: Most mature Kutless album so far

Sea of Faces is the first Kutless CD I purchased, and now, years later, it remains the best album they've ever released, a balanced and natural-feeling project that stands firmly on its own two feet.
I attribute the unique sound of this album to a variety of factors, chief of which is the feeling of unrushed passion they project. The band is confident in their slower songs, willing to use thick guitar riffs with lots of harmonic vocal background and bass; their unpretentious rhythms and minimalist screaming make this a great musical experience, occasionally akin to a redeemed and mellow Linkin Park sound.
The message the guys broadcast here is a heartfelt tribute to the grace of God in adversity. Their lyrics are empathetic and wise without being didactic or simpering; these masculine laments are actually very hopeful pieces, with plenty of attitude. The songs are diverse, from pumping rock tracks like Not What You See and Let You In to more melodic tunes like Sea of Faces and All of the Words. I enjoy every song on this excellent and unforced album.
