Free Music Review: The girl's come a long way!
Hit: 4 Stars

Remember the Australian kid in the late '80's that released a string of hits - mostly in England - with British pop midas trio Stock/Aitken/Waterman?
Yeah, the one that sounded all the same in all of them?
The one that at a certain point - i guess some 22 hit singles later - stood them up and tried some Brit-pop?
The one who failed badly in getting success in that arena?
Well, if you do...you know what's coming up.
If you don't...rush to your CD store and get a copy of this one:
Kylie changed musical direction and she's turned into a disco diva: SPINNING AROUND is made for the dancefloor and co-written by both Paula Abdul and Kara Dioguardi.
ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS is written and produced by Metro - enough said, although i still believe Anna Vissi's version is far better...
SO NOW GOODBYE, YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU, DISCO DOWN and UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LOVE border dangerously close to the '70' and '80's disco sound...deliciously i might add.
PLEASE STAY is enriched by a spanish guitar solo.
I'M SO HIGH, LOVEBOAT and KIDS (sung in a duet with Britain's wonderboy Robbie Williams) show Kylie's British style.
BUTTERFLY and the titletrack are hardcore dancefloor tunes.
You won't be disappointed.
A sureshot buy!

Free Music Review: Great CD!
Hit: 5 Stars

I picked up this CD at the Virgin Megastore at the Louvre Museum in France. I must say, it's appropriate that I bought it there because it's masterpiece. First, there are some songs that I just can't stand. Thay are: "Loveboat" and "Kids." I just don't like "Loveboat" and "Kids" is just really stupid. I really like "Spinning Around" a lot and "Butterfly." OK, some of the songs are pretty random, if you know what I mean, but it's still a really fun CD. It's a rare piece of work that you should own. I'm the only person I konw that owns this! Kylie is an amazing artist, she rules. If you liked Kylie's new US release, "Fever" you should get this CD. It's really good. I do like Fever better, but this CD is still really good. You should pick it up now! You won't regret it! Enjoy!

Kylie's FEVER is what gave her comeback status in the US but LIGHT YEARS was her big international comeback. After enjoying FEVER I decided to check out some of Kylie's older CDs. LIGHT YEARS is a great fusion of pop, dance, and disco. It's absolutely sweet, upbeat and lots of fun. "Spinning around", which was a top 10 smash is a disco/dance treat. There seems to be a disco theme thought out LIGHT YEARS. The second single "on a night like this" is awesome.

However Kylie does stumble with lame, annoying tracks like "loveboat" and "bittersweet goodbye". Note to Kylie: stay away from those goopy ballads. She's at her best on "on a night like this", "so now goodbye", "please stay" and the pulsating "butterfly". Vocally Kylie purrs all over this CD as usual with her sensual voice. FEVER is hot and sexy, LIGHT YEARS is sweet and groovy. LIGHT YEARS is guaranteed to get you're disco ball out on the dance floor. I thought FEVER was a little better though but LIGHT YEARS is defiantly worth checking out.

1. Spinning Around 5/5
2. On A Night Like This 5/5
3. So Now Goodbye 5/5
4. Disco Down 3/5
5. Loveboat 1/5
6. Koocachoo 4/5
7. Your Disco Needs You 3/5
8. Please Stay 5/5
9. Bittersweet Goodbye 1/5
10. Butterfly 5/5
11. Under The Influence Of Love 4/5
12. I'm So High 4/5
13. Kids 2/5
14. Light Years 3/5

Upbeat fun!

Free Music Review: It's the greatest thing that I could ever wish for...
Hit: 5 Stars

O.k. thats an exageration. But I really think this is a great album. It's a solid collection of pop tunes in different styles, from disco to 60's to "rock" overall very enjoyable.O.K My top three picks...1.ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS...A great dance tune, very catchy, very sexy...2.KOOCACHOO...A campy very upbeat song, with a very catchy chorus..3.YOUR DISCO NEEDS YOU...Yes it does. A very ridiculous and ridiculously addictive song...Songs I hate..1.KIDS...This song is horrible. I wouldn't let my worst enemy hear this [junk], I wouldn't want them to suffer. I can't believe it was a big hit overseas...Overall a very good pop album, campy and fun. Looking foward to hearing more from Kylie.

Free Music Review: the guiltiest of pleasures
Hit: 5 Stars

While Fever is the album that has finally broken Kylie in North America, this previous set is in fact a far more infectious, highly camp and totally satisfying FUN album. Light Years combines all of the best elements of 70s disco-pop wrapped up in state of the art production, lyrics that are disposable (without being insulting), irresistible beats and a completely winning sense of humour. Imagine the perfect soundtrack to a cocktail/disco/pool party and you have it. I still return to this album when getting ready for a night on the town - there's none better.
