This is yet another Kylie greatest hits package, but this is the first one feature hits from all phases of her career from the SAW bubblegum years to the experimental Deconstruction years to the thrilling dance-pop in which Kylie elevated herself into Madonna heights.
Disc One features the Stock-Aitken-Waterman productions including "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Locomotion", and the fabulous hits "Better The Devil You Know", "Step Back In Time" and "Shocked", all to keep the party going. Unfortunately two of Kylie's worst singles, "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" and "Tears In My Pillow" are featured here but they were actually big hits in their heyday so that's the reason why they're here. Disc One basically gathers up the biggest of Kylie's early hits so fans may be disappointed that they don't get "It's No Secret" or one of Kylie's greatest songs, "Finer Feelings" which was one of the first songs to introduce a more sophisticated and sexy Kylie.
The second disc starts off strongly with "I Believe In You" a stunning dance-pop ditty in which Kylie collaborates with the Scissor Sisters, and it's a great combination. The CD then launches into Kylie's world smash, "Can't Get You Out of My Head", which has been overplayed but still sounds fresh today. It's disappointing that both "Love At First Sight" and "Please Stay" are featured here in their album versions and not their popular single versions. It's also odd that Kylie's mid-90s material, save for "Confide In Me" is pushed to the end of the album, not interspersed with her recent smashes. But you can't go wrong with this two-disc collection that will be a party staples for years.
