Free Music Review: Like a Drug... I can't get enough
Hit: 4 Stars

I'm a relatively new fan of Kylie Minogue's music. I didn't know she'd been doing anything since the 80s, or that she was so big in the UK, until her smash hit, "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", hit the airwaves here in the states. I absolutely loved FEVER but was sadly disappointed in her last studio album, BODY LANGUAGE. While her music is steadily progressing into a more commercial sound, her irresistibly hooking electro pop fusion is my type of guilty pleasure. When I feel like listening to something different I usually turn to Kylie Minogue for a quick fix, and X hits the spot just right.

Standout songs for me would have to be "In My Arms", "One", "Stars", and "Nu-Di-Ty".

Free Music Review: Dance, Dance, Dance
Hit: 4 Stars

Kylie knows how to make us dance; that's for sure! This CD "X" is no exception to the rule. It is dance pop to its fullest.
The lead single "2 Hearts" is already gaining momentum on the club charts and dance radio. It's a good song from this CD but, I would not say one of the best on this set. My favorite song on here is: "Like A Drug" it is just so catchy and formulaic. It makes you want to jump up and hit the nearest dance floor. "Speakerphone" is another fun song that captivates you and makes you want to move your feet. Would make for a great single! Kylie knows how to use beats and sound effects to her advantage to make the "experience" all the more worthwhile.
This CD is a must have for any dance/pop/Kylie fan!!!

Free Music Review: fun
Hit: 4 Stars

it seemed to take forever to get this cd from amazon...but it was worth the wait. sorry, this is not an essay on how kylie has advanced western civilization forward...but i will say that this is probably one of her top three albums...it is fun, just enough like her past few albums to not alienate her "cant get you out of my head" fans and just different enough so she is not going to alienate her "body language" detractors....which i also liked (sorry, i thought it was also a good album). however on "x," i especially like the song "no more rain," "like a drug" and "heartbeat rock." the only complaint i have is the lyrics were not included in the booklet...just packaging disappointment, not musical content.

Free Music Review: Cosmic...
Hit: 4 Stars

After making 9 studio albums, Kylie releases her 10th album with full of cosmic pop. I have to say that the music here is quite strange. There's however some good-old-feeling Kylie songs I like (Like a Drug, In My Arms, The One, All I See, Nu-di-ty) but there's also all kind of strange howlings in couple of songs and I have to say I don't like it. Of course, Kylie's voice is very sensual and lovely but the wailing should have been left off. And more...the final track "Cosmic" is Kylie's most boring song, thank God it only lasts 3 minutes. However, I liked the song "Speakerphone" although it souded quite odd at first. Kylie's most bizarre album ever.
Stars: Like a Drug, In My Arms, Nu-di-ty

Free Music Review: She's back & almost better than ever
Hit: 3 Stars

Kylie Minogue is back, and better then ever. Yes, that phrase is over-used but, the fact is, it's true. Kylie's tenth studio album effort, 'X', is amazing pop. Ms. Minogue has just finished off her battle with cancer, and has effortlessly made one of the best mediocre pop albums of the year. Cheers to her. Now, let's get onto the actual album.

'X' starts off with the first single lifted off of the album, '2 Hearts'. This song is different than what we've been hearing on the radio lately, so props to her for taking a risk and putting this out. It also has a rock feel, but the video kind of destroyed the last chance for the song. The next track 'Like A Drug' sounds a lot like all the other songs on the album. Including 'In My Arms' & 'Speakerphone'. The latter being the hottest of the three. They all have the poppy-electric sound. Like A Drug is very addictive, same with In My Arms. But Speakerphone is the best. Especially with lyrics such as, "Drop your socks and grab your mini boom-box". You can't get anything better than that. But, as said, they are all similar in the fact that they are all dance, & both have robotic auto-tuned vocals. 'Sensitized' also sounds the same as the other bunch. Though this one is a bit different, it has the same music theme. Though this song is really hot, no doubting. The rest of the songs are basically the same.

The One' & 'No More Rain' start the downfall of the album. Both of these songs are pretty boring. Although The One is loved by some members of the forum (Kenny). For some reason, No More Rain reminds me of Ray of Light... eh. 'Stars' also is pretty bad. Very loud, and busy. Then the album makes a right-lane turn, and picks itself up. 'Wow' is the BEST track of the album. Fun, happy, positive, club-ready, vocals are hot, everything is just great. The whole song is addictive, and so fun to sing-along to. "Your such a rush, your rush is never ending, now, you got it your WOW WOW WOW WOW!" "What can I do? I'm into you... yeah, yeah, yeah" This whole song is radio-ready. Defiantly a stand-out track. Wow, wow, wow, wow! It continues its upward spiral with 'Nu-di-ty' although the track can get annoying at times. And then we go down, again, with 'Cosmic'. Pretty crappy, boring, and the vocals are terrible. It does remind me of a Gwen Stefani song. Especially with the vocals. The album closes off with on a brighter side with 'All I See'. This is another stand-out track. Vocals are hot, rap is great, beat is nice, and I can so picture crusin' along the road blasting this song. Great song.

To wrap this up, the album is mostly great, but has it's negative moments. But to be honest, this album is pretty great and is worth the money. Especially with the last track, 'All I See' which is the latest single. Worthy of anybody's cash, this is great. Very underrated. 3.5/5
