Granted, the first single was "good." It had a nice (for that time period) contageous energy about it which in turn drove people to the dancefloor. However, it's always amusing to me that (some) people actually regard La Toya Jackson as being a "good singer." She's not. She's a terrible singer and has a voice that is so weak and so tonally abysmal that it's a wonder she even comes from (one of) America's most musical families. Even funnier, is that back in the 2000's she released a song under the pseudonym "Toy" and (somehow) managed to have a HUGE hit. If she had gone under her REAL NAME, I doubt that anyone would have even bought the record. She's really pretty and sweet (Don't get me wrong.), but she has GOT TO BE one of the worst excuses for a singer out there. Other than her Playboy spread and all the drama/controversy that ensued, what does she have musically? She is only famous because she's a celebrity (in her own right) by association. There's ONE in every family that misses out on what's in the creative genes. She's clearly the one in THIS BUNCH. :-( |
