Free Music Notes for La Vie en Rose: La M?me

Free Music Review: Edith Piaf Movie
Hit: 3 Stars

I was disappointed in as much as one of the best songs from the movie was left off the sound track "La Vie En Rose". This was the song by the child actress who played Edith as a child and sang the French national anthem. I have all the other music by Edith Piaf and only ordered the movie sound track to have that particular song. The sound track was excellent in every other way. I just don't understand why this particular song was left off it.

Free Music Review: piaf made easy-listening
Hit: 3 Stars

It's wonderful to listen to Edith Piaf's singing in a clear, unscratched, updated CD. It's probably also a little disloyal- wouldn't she have preferred the old copies, with the surface noise? She was never into glamour.
But it doesn't matter, because it's good to hear the songs again, and it's an effort to listen to the old disks. It's just a shame that La Vie en Rose is in English only.

Free Music Review: Wish I Had Saved My Money
Hit: 2 Stars

I love Piaf and I didn't care for this CD. This singer is simply not believable as Piaf. If I had a voice, I could do better myself. Very disappointing. The passion of Piaf just isn't there, sorry.

Free Music Review: This CD is not a true sound track of the film.
Hit: 4 Stars

As wonderful as this CD is, especially the extraordinary remastering of old Piaf recordings, I was most disappointed that the captivating a capella performance of the Marseillaise (sung by Jil Aigrot?)by the child Edith on the street with her father, was not included. That was the first time in the film that the audience heard that wonderful, clear, melodious and powerful voice, and it was most believably the young Piaf. The film created such excellent voice and music continuity, that it deserves a traditional chronological sound track with proper notes and credits for each track. If the imported version is done in that way, it would be well worth pursuing.
